Just trying to understand how downloaded images work. For MAME I have four versions of Track & Field. Is it correct that LB will download just 1 image and point the other 3 at this (to avoid multiple downloads of a single file?) The main reason for asking is that I want to rename each of those 4 versions. T&F NA, T&F NZ, T&F Centuri etc. When I do that however the images disappear. I am assuming because of the fact that the "name" has changed. Is there any way around this? As far as I can see at the moment the only way I can fix this is to download the images 4 times - which obviously isn't ideal. Is there a trick that I'm missing?

All the images appear to be stored in LaunchBox\Images\<platform>\Box - Front (example)\North America etc. So why would some of the images be in cache-LB as well? Why does it not just use the folder they are downloaded to? This just seems to take up unnecessary disk space?

Is the folder LaunchBox\Images\Cache-LB supposed to be a temporary holding place that's cleared on exit? I currently have just under 10000 images in it.

Seems too random to be 'standard' behavior. I created Arcade about three weeks ago so why would it suddenly decide to create 5000 empty folders three weeks later? I've also seen it create empty folders one day and then delete them a few days later. Doesn't sound right to me

I am auditing a collection at the moment and when I've had enough I close launchbox. I then perform a complete backup of the launchbox folder and subfolders onto another drive. One thing I've noticed is that it keeps creating lots of empty folders for some reason. For example I am auditing my BBC collection at the moment and nothing else. When I closed launchbox and told it to do a backup this is what I see.: For some reason it suddenly wants to create >5000 folders. Not just for arcade in the screenshot but every single platform. I haven't even touched these, I only tested about 6 games in my BBC collection. I've seen it do this on multiple occasions so any idea what is causing it?

So I managed to find out that "View > Hide Games > Missing Screenshot Image" was suddenly ticked for no apparent reason and having unticked it everything came back after a moment of panic. But what happened?

What does Ctrl+Shift+R do in Launchbox? It seemed to do some kind of audit on *everything*. Now I have a load of platforms deleted on the left and of the one that is left (out of about 5) it is showing only 6 games when I had over a thousand

I'm having this issue too. Only since upgrading to 14. Doesn't hang every single time but more often than not. Does it generate any log files that are of any use admin?

That's immensely helpful thank you! While I was waiting I decided to write a powershell script instead. I also wrote one to find any game that does not have a DB ID number too. Happy to upload either/or if anyone else was interested.

I've tried researching this but not coming up with much. I have 7000 games in a platform and only a handful have missing media. Is there a quick and easy way to show all the ones that are missing? The "Games missing media" gives you absolutely everything so a) takes time and b) is a bit of a pain to sort through. I am aware of the audit which although it gives me what I want and can sort it is fairly slow and unresponsive because of the amount of data there. I wondered if there was a quicker way that I am missing?

Bear in mind that because these are categories they are currently blank and no images exist, so having to edit, search for the image etc. is actually a pain especially as I have a load to do. It would be so much easier just to know where to dump images into the folder structure.
