Glad the XML edit path worked for you. Worth noting for anyone reading later: the "Change ROMs Folder Path for Selected Games" option only handles flat per-platform folders, so the per-game subfolder layout really does need the find-and-replace in the platform XMLs. If you ever rename a platform folder during a future move, remember the paths in those XMLs will no longer match, so it's best to do the rename and the replace in the same pass. Also back up the Data\Platforms folder before editing, just in case.

My first Emerald run was Mudkip, mostly because a Water type felt like the safe pick while I was still learning the routes and gyms. The later evolution ended up carrying a lot of fights for me. If I went back now I'd probably try Treecko just to force a different early-game rhythm, since Mudkip made things pretty comfortable. Torchic seems like the pick for anyone who wants more of a challenge early on. Curious whether people here stick with their original choice or switch it up on replays.
