  1. Jason Carr said Hehehehe. New beta is out. I built my shiny new game cabinet over the weekend, so the focus for the last couple days has been on perfecting the game cabinet experience (in between games, of course). Added keyboard mapping options, volume adjustments with keyboard and controller mapping, an option to sort and star favorite games at the top of the games lists, fixed the sounds to only play if something actually happens (as opposed to as long as the key or button is held down), fixed audio stability issues, and fixed more remaining issues returning to Big Box after exiting out of games. Good find @scree on that mouse issue; I'll investigate. :) Very nice, liking the favorite changes. Now if you'll just add that controller button bind for favoriting games;p.
  2. Jason Carr said DeathProxy said Jason Carr said Another new beta out. I finally added a "Hide" field to games, so that you can hide games from your collection in LaunchBox and Big Box. I'm finding it really convenient to only show games with images and metadata completed in Big Box. Also supports bulk editing. This sounds great:D. How can I do a bulk edit to hide games without any kind of metadata? Also, I found a reproducible crash that I reported but I figured I'd report here too. If I'm scrolling down the list while trying to flip a box it will crash. I can easily produce this by going down the list and spamming the flip box key/button, and there's some noticeable lag when doing this as well. This also causes the Launchbox.xml to become corrupted. Keep up the good work:]. Well, it's not perfect, but assuming you use TheGamesDB for the bulk of your metadata downloads, you can just filter to TheGamesDB.net ID: None, then Ctrl+A, and use the wizard to mark all the games as hidden. Good find on the flip box. I'll get that fixed. :) Yeah that's the idea I was thinking of using but didn't since there's a few that get pulled from wikipedia and have some data, but I might want to hide those anyways, I'll have to see though.

  4. Nathan DiYorio said DeathProxy said 2)I imagine this one isn't possible or is a pain, but being able to open the manuals in some kind of full screen view from big box(like you can screenshots), would be really cool. If not does anyone have any idea how to do this a little more elegant? Such as open it in an already fullscreen view and some way to close it kind of like an emulator when starting a game? Set your default reading program to open in fullscreen and be sure your manuals are all in a compatible format. I use CDisplay and make sure my manuals are in PDF or CBZ. In order for this to work, CDisplay an alternative must be the default program for these file types. Thanks for the suggestion. If I ever use a machine specific for this setup, which I may one day, I'll give this a try. I use the machine my setup is currently on for other things so I likely won't be doing this for now.
  5. A few more suggestions 1.)This one should be fairly simple, just add the ability to HOLD the page up and page down buttons to continue scrolling instead of having to constantly click the button. 2.)I imagine this one isn't possible or is a pain, but being able to open the manuals in some kind of full screen view from big box(like you can screenshots), would be really cool. If not does anyone have any idea how to do this a little more elegant? Such as open it in an already fullscreen view and some way to close it kind of like an emulator when starting a game? 3.) Option to show game banners instead of the text or maybe show if available? I don't think I'd even prefer this method over the current text there is but emumovies which I used to grab my video files has game title banners and maybe some people would like to scroll through that somehow? 4.)Maps. There are very few of these from emumovies but I still think it's be cool as an option to open up one(in the same way manual functions now). Just have a maps folder in launchbox the same way the other ones work. 5.)This might be more of a question than a suggestions. Is there such thing as transparent system(console) images with launchbox? I like the grey color background and want when im selecting my system for it to show it in the background, I found some on the forums but they do the white background and I don't like that:(. If this isn't possible that'd be cool.
  6. Is the random game feature in bigbox? If not it should be, if it is I missed it:(.
  7. New features. -Game count in list in (). After the name of the console/system. Optional of course. -Individual volume controls for videos/music/menu sounds? Not sure how easy/difficult this would be. -Not sure how this would work but some kind of search feature, or some way to skip to a specific letter maybe? Having a big list even with skipping through it can be a bit of a pain to find what you want. I'm gonna go say I think skip to letter feature since it's more controller friendly. -This is something probably more long term, but I think generally it would be ideal if you could do things in bigbox that you can do in launchbox, such as scan for/update games(metadata) and such. That's all I've got for now.
  8. Some small suggestions I had while messing with BigBox. 1.)A controller bind that you can set to favorite a game. I was going through and favoriting some game I knew I liked and it would make something like this a lot easier if I could just hit a button of my choice instead of hitting the select button, scrolling down, and then hitting the favorite button with the select button and then going back. 2.)A way to see some more detailed information, namely what I'd personally like to be able to see if the file's name in question. If it was just displayed somewhere that would be nice, but a menu to open up to display some details like filename, size, and some other stuff would be nice. Sometimes I have two roms and I want to keep those, but I might want to favorite a certain version or such, and without the ability to see the filename I have to go through a little more hassle to do so.
