  1. Yea many users weren't happy when he decided to go with the game folder system but dealt with it anyway because, you know, 100% accurate emulation. At least he released a tool to automatically convert your library.
  2. monyarm said Thats only when you use higan for Super Famicom (SNES) games , higan also supports gameboy(Color/Advance) and NES , and the name of the folder depends on the name of the rom Every. Single. SNES game folder ends with ".sfc" That part is standard no matter what the name of the ROM is. I'm not sure about the other emulators because I've only used Higan for SNES (like a LOT of users). When I saw that it was "sfc," I thought "well clearly that's just for Super FamiCom" but then byuu said this: http://board.byuu.org/phpbb3/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=634&start=60#p14893
  3. If it helps, all of the folder names end with ".sfc"
  4. I've seen that wiki before. It had some fantastic info when each wiki page was added but I think they mostly bump version numbers. I only brought up the NES stuff because it was running well enough to trick the anti-emulation efforts. One thing I forgot to mention is that it has solar sensor emulation. So boktai 2 is completely playable. Oh and prefetch so the timings are right. Even if VBA-M has advantages right now, mGBA is quickly overtaking it in every category. She's finishing up wii/vita/3ds ports right now but shaders and Dolphin connectivity are set for the next release. Those are the last two reasons I can think of to keep using VBA-M.
  5. While adding my library into LaunchBox, I ran into a few unlicensed games or other obscure things that weren't in TheGamesDB or wiki but were in GameFAQs. After this happened a few times, I thought that bringing it up here might be a good idea.
  6. Advantages of VBA-M: Shaders and Dolphin connectivity (both of which are on the to-do list for mGBA) Advantages of mGBA: Faster, more accurate (it actually runs the classic NES games that put in a bunch of anti-emulation measures), and rewinding.
  7. Jason Carr said I see, sure; so we just send it a folder path instead of a ROM file path. I can add that to the list. :) Are you the developer of Higan by chance? Or just know them? No, that would be byuu I was just on his forums. And thanks for adding it to the list!
  8. This adds compatibility for higan. Higan takes ROMs and gives them their own folders. The folders contain the ROM... but in parts. It needs to load all of the contents of the folder. So the only thing LaunchBox needs to do differently is tell higan to load the folder instead of the ROM. This info is from the dev of higan.
  9. SentaiBrad said Have you tried the latest VBA-M from their Sourceforge page? Curious. I also wonder how it compared to the GBA cores in RetroArch. It was benchmarked at 30% faster months ago. It's only gotten better since. But I wasn't talking about the retroarch core. The standalone program is excellent. The dev made the retroarch port herself and keeps it in the master branch, I believe. So either version of mGBA should be acceptable. But like I said, it's only the recent nightly builds of the standalone program that got the functioning fullscreen command line.
  10. Byuu answered a reddit post, actually. Apparently you're supposed to load the folder, not the ROM. So LaunchBox needs the ability to select a folder as the ROM.
  11. It's the most accurate psx emulator. Default command: -psx.stretch aspect_mult2
  12. It's both faster and more accurate than VBA-M. As of this morning's nightly build, command line for fullscreen is functional (-f). That's the only default command you need. Everything else works out of the box. http://mgba.io/
  13. I would prefer to use Higan itself. The retroarch core hasn't taken upstream changes in a very long time.
  14. Higan is the most accurate SNES emulator available and second most accurate GBA emulator. I'd like to be able to use it with LaunchBox but I'm having some issues. When you load your game library into Higan, it strips the name off of the ROM and creates a folder by the same name. Within each game-named folder is a manifest and program.rom file. The program.rom file is the original game from your games folder. Thanks to LaunchBox's ability to use containing folders' names instead of ROM names to search for metadata, I was able to add the Higan library fairly easily. Having the manifests be automatically ignored would have been nice, but whatever. The issue I'm having is that launching one of these program.rom files doesn't load the game in Higan. Higan itself is launched, but the game is not. Am I missing a command line or something? I've added the link to the latest version of Higan below. Thanks. http://board.byuu.org/phpbb3/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=634
