  1. Playlists are absolutely amazing; they straight up have holy grail level functionality. There seems to be just one drawback: performance appears to tank when they're sorted differently (i.e. One playlist has games sorted by title and another by release date). It's worth noting that I requested that feature a little while back so I want to thank you for implementing it in the first place. To give a little more detail, the problem comes from switching from playlist to playlist while they're sorted with a different parameter. It doesn't seem to be impacted by the number of games in each list or the method by which they're populated (automatically or manual). So far, the only thing I've thought to try is to increase the RAM cache to the maximum but that yielded no luck. I'm not sure if this is something that can be fixed via a configuration or if it's something that needs to be addressed dev-side. Please let me know if this is something that's already been discussed (I gave a cursory search across this forum and didn't see anything). Any guidance on this would be appreciated. Edit: Since I'm asking about a performance issue, I suppose I should throw down some specs i7-4790 @ 3.60ghz 32gb ram GTX970 Western Digital 2tb HDD (where launchbox is stored) Windows 10
  2. DOS76 said If you are using MAMEUI you can have MAMEUI launch the vertical games on your vertical monitor that is what I do. Actually I just reread your post and I am assuming that when you say you change your primary monitor that you have a vertical monitor also that you are changing it to. If not just ignore my inane ramblings. If you do have a secondary vertical monitor just go to the game in MAMEUI and right click on it and choose properties then you can choose which monitor you want to launch even better you can go to Vertical option in the side bar and right click that follow the above steps and all your vertical games will launch on the vertical monitor. Jason Carr said Hi @NefariousJoe, the AutoHotkey script does run before launching the game, so you could indeed use that to send a key stroke. @DOS76's suggestions might solve your issues though; I'm not sure. Thank you for the responses. First, yes, I have a second (well, third) monitor that I keep in portrait for, partially, this reason. And second, that's excellent news. I never knew what the order of operations was when launching a game. I will slap together an AHK script and see how it goes. Thank you both.
  3. Naturally all the autohotkey implementation works nicely, but is there a way to have launchbox send a keystroke just before launching a game? Here's my situation: I like a bunch of games that benefit from vertical screen orientation. Older arcade shooters like 1943, through more recent games like Ikaruga and Downwell which have native vertical screen support. I have display fusion set up to change my primary monitor with a hotkey. Any way I can make launchbox send it for me when launching a game?
  4. I would love to spread some Christmas cheer via this excellent application.
  5. Thank you, that would be amazing. By the way, the more I tinker, the more I love this thing. In no uncertain terms: Thank you for LaunchBox.
  6. Appologies if this is already been requested 100 times, but in my (admittedly, short) time with the program, the only thing I find my aching for is a way to create default Arrange By settings for each filter. What I'm going for: I got premium and set up all my custom filters for platform, series, dev, etc all in the same column.; this is all wonderful. What I'd like to do is set it up so that each one has a different arrangement setting. i.e Title for Platform and Release Date for Series. I'm not going to regret the purchase without it at all, but it would be nice.
