  1. Has anyone else had any issues with launchbox loading up in recent builds? Like I said in my previous post, my system hangs on "populating games" in any build from 10.15 and later. I'm guessing most are not having any issues, so I'm trying to figure out what is different about my system that is causing these problems. I'm having this issue in both a fresh installation as well as my long running installation, so it's not a corrupted file. Possibly a registry issue? Or something with my data that is clashing with an updated feature?
  2. Hello all - I've been having a lot of problems with my Launchbox set-up lately and still need some more help getting it figured out. I had posted a couple of weeks back about a spontaneous problem that arose, where the screen appeared broken and frozen upon loading. Prior to this my Launchbox setup has worked wonderfully for years and I love it. By trial and error, I somehow managed to fix this and determined that most likely it was due to a corrupted theme file. Since that time, I am having major difficulties getting into the program. Occasionally I can get in, and once in, everything runs as normal. However getting the program to load is hit and miss. Usually the loading screen gets stuck on "populating games" and can remain there for hours until I finally just cancel it in task manager. I did just find that installing versions of Launchbox from version 10.14 and prior work great - it loads up in seconds with no issues. Anything after that hangs on "populating games". Any ideas? For now I can use the older version to continue enjoying the program, but at the moment I can no longer update
  3. Thanks - it looks like I am running beta. Good to know that it is not specific to my setup. For now I will hold tight until the next stable release.
  4. A week back I had an issue with Launchbox where the program was not loading correctly. Though I fixed it, the program is acting a little buggy now and I lost some data (some emulators disappeared, some assets), so I am trying to go back and re-set up the program to how it was. One particular issue I am having is with .lnk files. Any time I try to load one (for example, with Bluestacks games) I get the message "An error occurred while trying to launch the game: The specified executable is not a valid application for this OS platform". I currently have the the full .lnk file in the application path and the emulator box checked, with command prompt as the emulator. Any ideas of what I may be missing? Thanks!
  5. I managed to get the original installation running again. Doing so required me to delete everything in the data folder and restart the program, causing it to revert back to defaults. I then re-added the data from a backup. I'm thinking the original problem posted above may have been due to a corrupted theme. I was using "Old Default". It is currently running now with the main default option. Oddly, I was unable to get the new installation on my second drive to ever load. It would load if the data folder was completely blank, but if I added any data from a backup, it would simply hang on trying to start (show up in task manager, but never boot). This is somewhat concerning if I would ever wanted to completely reinstall.
  6. I've tried installing a new version of the program on a different drive. The new blank database launches fine, but if I try to add one of my backups to the data folder, the program fails to launch (I can see it on my task manager, but it doesn't appear to start). The backup I'm using is from before the problem started.
  7. Yes - first I tried just deleting the settings.xml. Then tried pulling the settings.xml from a backup that was about a week old and replacing the current file. I further tried re-installing an older version of launchbox after doing the above. I'm stumped
  8. Thanks for the information. Unfortunately, I followed the directions but my screen still looks like the pic above. Any other ideas of what may be causing this?
  9. Hi - Since yesterday, Launchbox has been giving me some display issues (see attached pic). It launches like this and I have no access to any options and cannot see my library. The issue happened randomly; nothing that I recall led to the problem. I tried re-installing both of the last two updates, but after the installation, it continues to look like this. Is there a cache somewhere that I need to clear or data somewhere that I should delete to rebuild the dashboard? Thanks
  10. For the poll option "visual icon/indicator for broken games", would it possible to have this for completed games as well (launchbox not big box)?
  11. I'm loving Launchbox - it is great for keeping all of my emulation games, Steam games, Origin games, etc in one place. Is there any chance of adding a feature that would better depict which games you've completed? I know there is a checkbox in the edit box, but it would be great to have a way of differentiating the finished and unfinished games on the main screen. For example, a way of highlighting the text, making the label text for completed games a different color, or a small banner across the corner of the box art that says "done". Just a suggestion because it is one thing that I've found myself wanting over the course of the last couple of months of use. Great job on the program!
  12. Ah, wonderful - thanks! I figured the add game and background changer existed somewhere.
  13. Hi there. First off - I just discovered your front end and love the possibilities. Right now I use Kodi/XBMC, and this may give me a little more control over my game collection. I do have a few questions: 1) How do you import PC games that are not Steam or Windows? For example, I have a few that I have bought from the Ubisoft store that are not showing up. Is there a way to manually import singular titles? (With Kodi, I can just use the .lnk shortcuts and Advanced Launcher will include them) 2) Does the Big Box Mode allow you to have smaller text lists like standard mode? I know Big Box works with Kodi, which I want, but I like the more compact lists of Standard. 3) How do you change the default background images that show up when no fanart is present? Thanks!
