  1. If you run setup and I understand you correctly then you will have an instance of your original Launchbox at d:/launchbox and a new instance at d:/launchbox/launchbox Personally I would do it to a seperate folder then move/merge files manually but that is just my style.
  2. the ExoDOS sets are designed to all be in the same folder. So yes download them all to the same folder and it will actually save you some space since there is a little overlap for megre and stuff. By default this comes with a whole new instance of Launchbox so you wont overwrite anything unless you do it yourself. If you do merge it in then this should only overwrite MS-DOS in Launchbox so you would lose anything you already had there but this more than likely already has anything you already had.
  3. That is the joy of the 12 days.... It's a surprise.
  4. No the XML file created is only for the v3 games. eXo is essentially manually writing the Launchbox DOS xml (this is the file usually generated during import). If you were to import eXoDOS like you normally import games it won't be pretty.
  5. It isn't that simple he has created the xml files to match everything. That has not been done for the full collection yet. It isn't an automated process. Use the PD forums to troubleshoot. Also it has already been stated that it will be part of the 12 days of PD so it will be free leech at some point soon. Also if you do it correctly (read the upgrade instructions he has provided) and already have v2 then it is only around 10gb to go from v2 to v3. That will only make it free for you. Unless you are Staff over there you can't Free it for everyone.
  6. Thanks eXo refreshing like crazy. Take care of yourself. Feel better. Looks like it's live but the backend is still catching up. Tracker isn't tracking.
  7. You mean the infamous eXo has a normal life too? Thanks again for all the work you do and the time you spend helping the community.
  8. As I understand it from previous posts. This ships with a whole new instance of Launchbox. You can either use your existing and the new one separately or you can merge them. Make a backup of your existing setup if you are worried. It should be fairly simple to move the correct files over to you existing config. If you choose to merge this will wipe out you MS-DOS games for sure unless you manually edit your MS-DOS xml file (which would be very painful if more than a couple things).
  9. Ok we have to folder structure and all the files from v2. Now all we need is the v3 torrent... No rush (HURRY!!!) but really, thanks for all the time and effort you have put into these packages over the years. I'll just be obsessively refreshing PD for now. My 1gbps will be dedicated to this at least until the 12 days kick off.
  10. Ah. Yeah that works. Couldn't remember how the XML was formatted off the top of my head and not at home.
  11. Ok so my thought to make this super simple. Have files RPG.game Adv.game and RPG.app Adv.app. I am doing this without and example file right now but the logic is correct. Might need to tweak names and location. Batch file echo ^<games^> > MS-DOS.xml type *.game >> MS-DOS.xml echo ^</games^> >> MS-DOS.xml echo ^<apps^> >> MS-DOS.xml type *.apps >> MS-DOS.xml echo ^</apps^> >> MS-DOS.xml
  12. I think I could do it with a couple loops. Iterate through until it see a specific tag. Output to 2 separate files until you have read all source files then merge the 2 temp docs.
  13. Seems like it would be easy enough to use a batch file to merge a couple different xml files as long as you don't have to dedup them too. I can try and run with this if no one wants to create an actual executable.
  14. eXo said StammesOpfer said Did that give you cover art? I would just try it but I am waiting until Win3xO is done before I try it again. Done as in, downloading? Or done as in, final release? I ask because from a release stand point, Win3xO is "done". I'll eventually go back to it and add missing games I've found, but that won't be for a few years. Downloading. What you have is so complete I would never know the difference. Thank you for all that you have done.
  15. franklb said I successfully exported all the games from both eXoDOS v2 and Win3xO using MEAGRE v2.5.2.3 that comes with Win3xO. This added over 6000 games in total to LaunchBox. These are DOS, Windows 3.x and "PC Booter" games. I used the trick here https://www.launchbox-app.com/forum/troubleshooting/old-images-folders of setting ImagesReorganizedFor5 false to get all the exported media correctly named and located. I think this post: https://www.launchbox-app.com/announcements/new-launchbox-export-in-meagre should be edited to include the procedure for LaunchBox v5+. Did that give you cover art? I would just try it but I am waiting until Win3xO is done before I try it again.
  16. donarumo said Thanks for the blog post. Sorry I didn't see it sooner, been busy with work. On the plethora of missing box art entries, I ended up writing a small program that looks for an image file (a file ending in either .jpg, .gif., or .bmp) named "title" in the screenshots folder and moves it to the main images folder and renames it Front with the same extension. I uploaded this file here: http://www.filedropper.com/project1 It's 12 megs (thanks Delphi!) but all it does is the rename process. To use it, you simply browse to Launchbox's images folder and then hit the rename button. Use this at your own risk of course as I'm not responsible for any issues you have. I can tell you I used it on my own images folder and it worked great. All of my titles from MEAGRE (other than those that already had front images) are now Front images (example below). So I know I am bringing this back from the dead. Any chance anyone has an active link or can reupload this? Seems the existing link is no longer correct unless a non-functional sheep game is somehow correct. Looks like that site allows other files to overwrite or has a time limit.
