  1. So I converted a few PS1 games to PBP. Well they play fine in both RA and ePSXe202-1. Load them with RA from LB and same error as before.
  2. SentaiBrad said Try updating. I've had RetroArch give me that in the past and updating fixed it for me. Also, make sure you're using the regular Mednafen PS1 core, and not the one with "hw" in the title. That one is very alpha. If you launch a game that is already unarchived does it give you the error? If you want to save some space, but not deal with unarchiving you can try putting your PS1 games in to a PBP format as well. The mednafen core reads these as well. All updated. Using Sony Playstation -L "cores\mednafen_psx_libretro.dll" -c "config\mednafen_psx_libretro.cfg". When launch game unzipped works fine. Also works fine zipped with ePSXe202-1. As for size all my stuff on this 8tb drive is pretty much zipped. If I uncompressed all this OMG! Might have to but rather not if can help it. Might need to look into PBP format. I have never converted any of my ROMs but maybe PM a list of programs and stuff to start looking into this. I know you said can do for other stuff as well.
  3. All my PS1 files are 7z. I can unzip them and run via RA loading cue sheets fine. When using LB the files unzip to temp. I see the .bin and .cue but when RA starts I get an error:
  4. SentaiBrad said I was close. :P Can you change where it extracts? So maybe I could use my SSD instead for little faster speeds?
  5. Anyone using this emulator?
  6. Looks SentaiBrad said There is a temp folder that is created, I believe in the LaunchBox folder (...?), and it should be removed afterwards. SentaiBrad said There is a temp folder that is created, I believe in the LaunchBox folder (...?), and it should be removed afterwards. Looks like there is a Temp folder in the Z-Zip folder.
  7. So am I missing something or is there no Hi Scores support in this version? If not should I switch to something else? Not really sure which is the best for MAME stuff anyways.
  8. So I know that there is a plug in being built for this and I see a lot of people use the two program today. I have used HyperSpin for about a year now I have it mostly working but like LB better. However I love RL for fades/bezels etc. Right now I am basically building a new system so been just adding games in LB and Emulators and running them. My questions are: Later when plug in comes out what it is really doing? Will it be easy to which over to using the two together?
  9. So when I have LB extract a file where is it places? After emulator quits does it delete the uncompressed files?
  10. SentaiBrad said Yea, I'm using ISO too. All of mine do have CUE sheets too. We must have gotten the same set. It is true though that pretty much most discs based systems require cue sheets, it's just been a while since I did 3DO apparently. So then yea, that reminds me @rmilyard, either the discs are bad rips or your BIOS is the wrong one / the wrong name / the wrong location. Well most of my ROMs are .img so I guess for now I'll use 4do to run them since works. I posted on RetroArch about .img but nothing yet.
  11. SentaiBrad said Then you don't have the BIOS in the right location or named properly. If you have the 3DO bios for 4DO standalone, rename them to panafz10.bin and put it in your system folder. Also, in the tutorials for the channel, I cover everything needed to get the system up and running for that episode and usually a bit extra. I have it there. Works fine with .iso files.
  12. SentaiBrad said In the info folder inside of the RetroArch folder. Edit it with Notepad++. I have no clue if it's going to work, someone mentioned this to me, the best solution would be to load the cue sheets. So RetroArch 1.3.4\info\4do_libretro.info I tried it and same issue. Interesting it will not load games via .cue either if .img. But in 4do seems fine.
  13. SentaiBrad said The info file for 4DO in RA: "supported_extensions = "iso|cue"". Supposedly you can add another extension to that (.bin in this case) and it might work, but like I said it's generally always cue sheets that are required. Where would I edit that to try?
  14. SentaiBrad said Extraction depends on the Emulator, but generally yes, and the extraction time can take a while so we suggest to leave them unarchived for discs. So I would say that iso or img are not the way to and rather it's cue sheets you need. That is pretty much most disc based consoles. When using RetroArch with 4do core and telling it to extract files all I get is the Insert CD screen. If use 4do emu seems to work fine.
  15. So I have a noob question. Almost all my 3do roms are .img files. I watched video and seems RetroArch will only load .iso files. Do I need to somehow convert all my .img to .iso? And if so there a easy way of doing this? Or should I use 4do emulator? Trying to keep simple for controller setup. Also if roms at 7z do they need to be extracted?
  16. Last night I let run to get all my Arcade artwork. I have lifetime membership at Emumovies and still got error about 117 times. Today when just doing NES system I am getting a lot of the same errors.
  17. Is there a way to sort all your missing box art to work on tracking down missing stuff?
  18. Getting 404 error from LaunchBox Games Database today
  19. Be looking around but not seeing much. Are there any guides for getting any Pinball into LB? Like Future Pinball, Visual Pinball, Pinball FX2 or Pinball Arcade? Kids love all the arcade and console stuff but I would really like Pinball tables like have in HS.
  20. SentaiBrad said Yes, it's per emulator. Hmmm. Maybe future should have per platform? Just thinking out load but since RetroArch does so many systems might be handy.
  21. SentaiBrad said Because compression takes a lot of time for decompression, so it is suggested to not do this for Disc based systems, and on the earlier cart based systems you don't save that much space in the grand scheme of things. That said, we do know people like to use it regardless, and as long as you check the Box when you edit an emulator to use Archive Compression (to decompress it), then it will work just fine. Just make sure to disable that check box for games that can't be decompressed, like Arcade systems. Some emulators also natively support archives as well, in which case that is prefered. The alternative I prefer and suggest the most is to not use archive compression, but alternate compression. PS2 and PSP games can be CSO compressed, Gamecube games GCM compressed, Wii games can be WBFS compressed and PS1 games can be PBP compressed and it will eliminate the multi-disc issue as it should automatically switch discs. Some games don't like being put in to CSO, PBP or GCM containers though, and there are compatability charts for those systems on the internet. Search the forums for those compression methods if you're curious, we've talked about them a lot on here. So the compression check box in LB is per emulator and not per platform?
  22. So today I have been adding systems to LB. I haven't really messed with configs/setups right now just getting the added and all media downloaded. My question is almost all my ROMs are either 7z or .rar so if this going to cause issues? In most of the tutorial videos the ROMs are not compressed.
  23. SentaiBrad said Well on our channel we have tutorials for pretty much every single major system now, that link is in the signature of all my posts. Check those out to help you out, and if you need more help setting them up please ask! If you want an easy way to set up controllers, RetroArch is probably the best out there. I haven't used it with the Wiimote and Nunchuck w/ the Dolphin bar though, so I don't know how that would work. Any Xinput devices get automatically mapped though, so my PS4 controller works out of the box for everything. I had to set up my "Generic USB" N64 controller, and it was a bit annoying, but after saving a custom config for N64 and having LaunchBox load that, it just automiatically loads my controller now. I wouldn't recommend RA for everything, PSP, DS, DOS, and even MAME may not be the best emulators for it. So I used Lightspeed to split my MAME roms into Arcade, Capcom CPS1, 2 and 3 also SNK NeoGeo. Should the emulation for these my main MAME? Or use cores in RA for those systems?
  24. So I got MAME and SNES done. I have many more to start adding. Do you need to do them one at a time or is there a way to add more than one at a time?
  25. SentaiBrad said That is looking sexy @rmilyard! I don't have the space or the money for it, but I would like to use one of these cab's at some point: http://www.re-arcade.com.sg/#!playcade/qcnlb @SentaiBrad Thanks! It was a lot of work but love it now. Still need to do more artwork but functions. Now coming onboard with LB I have a lot of work to get stuff running. Basicly deleted all Hyperspin and kept my ROMs so need to install LB, Emulators and get all configs working with my controllers I-Pac 2, Xbox 360 and Willmotes.
