    @Jason Carr

    No filters.. just scrolled through the library. Again, I can revert back to latest stable and not have it crash. Let me know if I can help troubleshoot any further.

    I'm having this too. Do you have the Steam plugin installed? I think it may be because of that - I think Launchbox crashes when Steam is not running.

    @Jason Carr if a plugin crashes does it crash the whole of Launchbox or can it be localised to only stop the Plugin?

  2. When moderating, it would be extra useful if there was a way for the submitter to state why they feel a change is necessary. I'm moderating a change for Road Rash II on the Genesis at the moment, and Wikipedia suggests that the current release date is correct whereas a submission has been made to alter it. I'll likely reject, but it would be useful to know if someone has evidence to the contrary.

  3. I'm not so sure about this - Playstation Minis were not just a PSP exclusive - in fact I used to play them most on my PS3. If we did get rid of this, we should also ensure that WiiWare/DSiWare/Virtual Console etc are also got rid of - in my view I think it's nice to have the distinction.

    I'm not sure how the episode-based games are handled right now -- should we have each episode as a separate database entry? Should we have a single entry for the full game? Both?

    For example, currently we have db entries for Cognition Episode 1 and Episode 2. I've tried to add the full 4-episode game but it was rejected as a duplicate for Episode 1, which sounds kinda weird.

    So, what's the right way to handle episodic games? The guidelines are pretty vague on the topics (only "significantly different" editions are allowed, whatever that means).

    I don't have any in my collection, but I suspect the way I'd want to represent it in LaunchBox would be to have a single entry with multiple 'applications' - a bit like a multi-CD game (something like the recent Back to the Future series would have 6 entries otherwise). I guess that way you do lose out on having the individual release dates for each, but eliminates the risk of having mismatched metadata across the series.

    I guess though if an extra episode was added post-release as separate DLC then that may be different to if it's just an episode of the main game?

  5. I've seen a few updates recently where someone has added an alternate name in the title (eg the Japanese name as well as the English - such as  Aggressors of Dark Kombat / Tsuukai GANGAN Koushinkyoku).

    I'm assuming that the guidelines are that we use the worldwide name as much as possible, if region specific then use the region specific name - but not both as it should match the box art?

    Also, I've seen some instances where the Japanese name has been translated (eg http://gamesdb.launchbox-app.com/games/details/15624 - which I think the name transliterated is 64 Ōzumō). Couldn't find anything in the guidelines for what is preferred here? My suspicion is that we should use the Japanese transliteration as far as possible, unless it has been specifically and widely known as something else worldwide?

  6. Hi, I have my PSX games wrapped up in 7z files in two different ways (bin/cue and sub/img/ccd). Games in bin/cue format are loading correctly, but I get a black screen when running the sub/img/ccd. I suspect the issue is that Launchbox is passing the wrong decompressed file to epsxe (suspect that it passes the sub file - which is the only one of the three that epsxe cannot successfully load from). Is there configuration anywhere to filter / select the file types contained in zip files that are passed to the emulator? Thanks
