  1. Hi, thank you for replying. I have not tried all the things you mentioned yet, however I did try something else and noticed something strange. I deleted all playlists and started over and added only the genre playlist- both alone and under the subcategory. When alone (not in subcategory) it went under the Wii U platform like it should. But when I set it to go in a subcategory, it went in the root. All the other platforms have it go under the genre subcategory but under the respective platform. Edit: Also, when editing the 'playlist' in the upper left corner it says "Edit Platform Category." But all the other platforms' genre subcategory says "Edit Platform Category" too, even though they are located under the platform. Yes, I am sure that I click OK. Totally understandable question, no offence taken.
  2. Anybody have an idea about this? I don't know whats going on.
  3. I changed the format of the Wii U games from folder structure to .wua format, so I scanned for removed roms, which removed all games from the Wii U platform in Launchbox. So I reimported it and enabled the auto playlists for it like before. Only this time the auto playlist for Genre was put under Root and I can't move it to the Wii U platform. I right clicked the playlist, edit and Unchecked Root, and checked Wii U (Platform) and clicked OK. Nothing changed and when I went back into edit playlist, Root was again checked and Wii U (Platform) was not. Why is it not letting me move it? Edit: The All Games and Favorites playlists are under the Wii U platform like they are supposed to be. Edit: I think its considering this auto playlist as a platform category like Console and Handheld but why and how do I fix it? Thanks.
  4. Sorta new at this, how do we use these? Like, what folder do these go in, how do I get them to work? Thank you. Edit: I have the latest Launchbox version.
  5. Thank you for the reply, I actually figured it out by (continuing) to read forum posts. I did try to look up in the forums but didn't find a solution right away. anyway, I got it to work. Thanks again.
  6. Hello, I have set up a "platform category" for playlists, and within it, a playlist for series which is listed on the sidebar. Under the series playlist I wanted to set custom icons for each series. I have put a picture in the \LaunchBox\Images\Platform Icons\Playlists folder (among other locations to test) and named it the exact same as the playlist name, and I have had a premium license for several years. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you! Edit: Also tried \LaunchBox\Images\Platform Categories. No luck.
  7. I know this is an old post, but it is my post and I thought I would add to it instead of creating a new one. I was wondering if it would be possible to have this option NOT selected by default. I just opened up Launchbox to import 1 console and set some settings for it and play around with it and before I knew it, it had "imported" every system I had a game folder for, even though most of them didn't have games in them yet. It basically just imported BIOS files that I had in them. I wanted to work on getting the games into the folders before importing them. I understand that some people would like this feature, and I may at some point too, but to have it enabled by default is not good in some situations. I had to go through and manually delete all the systems I wasn't ready for yet.
  8. Thank you for clarifying.
  9. I am wondering why when I started to import roms and I cancelled the import, it still imported the games automatically but with no input from me. This means I didnt get a chance to select an emulator, among other things. Is this intended? I dont understand how this could work. Does this require setting up platforms and emulators before the import? But that doesnt make sense either because it tries to import new games automatically right away before theres a chance to set things up. Im very confused on how this is supposed to work.
  10. Thanks for the reply, I do keep my games in the Lauchbox\Games folder, and chose to keep them there during import. Is there any way to know how Launchbox wants me to name them beforehand? Right now the [platform].xml file, platform management in Launchbox, and the game edit dialog all have different paths. Which is the one I should go by? Thanks again. (I did already mass edit the [platform].xml files using Notepad++, while Launchbox was closed.
  11. Is it a folder naming problem? Do the game folders need to be named a certain way?
  12. Hi, I am resetting up my Launchbox for about the 100th time now (Was very close to selling gaming PC, but decided not to.) But now I am having a problem that I have had before, but somehow messed around with it until I got it. This time however, I would like to know why this is happening. When I import a ROM folder into Launchbox, I choose to leave the files where they are. But afterwards I find that it has created a duplicate folder, although it is named slightly differently. For example, I had my folder of Gameboy games named "Nintendo - Gameboy" in my Games folder. After the import, there was a new folder named "Nintendo Gameboy" (no dash), which was empty, and the original folder "Nintendo - Gameboy" which still had the games in it. Why does this happen? I really dont want any more folders in there than I have to, especially if they are empty. Thank you.
  13. The list of people who want the feature to hide, but not remove a platform. ADD ME TO THE LIST.
  14. Ok, i understand. Thank you.
