Thanks Man for the answer but that not that. I got my snes collection sorted manually. I add exactly the same media to all them games, like covers, 5 game snapshots, they all got the same media.

Hi guys.
I Just start testing big box because to this date i was only messing with LB.
The first problem i find is that some games that i See in LB are missing in BB. Some idea?
Lets Say for Snes i have in LB 5 games starting by letter Z, but in BB i See only 2 of them. They all works correct in LB, they are not checked as broken or something.
What can be the problem?

Ok thanks a lot lord.
So i only have to copy Sega Genesis and Sega Master system xmls from data/platform folder to my LB catalog. I was warried that there some other XML files containing info about all the platforms i have in LB i Will have to copy/paste some data to them.
Configuring emulator and Puting a right patch to games folder is easy enough So this Will not be a problem.
Thanks again.

Hi guys.
One question. I want to export 2 platforms (Sega Genesis and Sega Master system) from my friend LB to my LB. He got them all sorted plus add additional images, descriptions and videos. I dont want to sort it by myself I Just want to copy those 2 platforms to my LB. I know i have to copy image, videos, manualna and all that platform folders from his LB to my, but what about XML files? Which one i should copy. Note that i have all Nintendo platform sorted in my LB and he des not have them in his LB, and i don't want to lose platforms that i have in my LB. I Just want to add this two particular platforms from him.
Please let me know what XML files i should copy and if that copy action is possible to proceed.

Hi,
I don't want to start new topic about Sega Dreamcast so I put it here. I got question about multiple disc games. I want to add my DC games collection to LB and for other platforms it was a problem so i ask before adding. How to add 2 or 3 disc games? should i only add .cdi file for disc one and keep another disc in the same directory as the disc one?

Thanx spycat. The problem is that i would have to play all clones to find the ones that are playable instead of parent games which is too much for me. i don't have another year for that ;]
I understand i can delete all files from diff folder? delete files for games that i leave in my collection will recreate when i play those games again?
-
Yes i'm pretty sure i have non-merged set.
One more questrion - are there any clones worth playing? i always don't even import them to LB as i was thinking their just other language versions, etc. But now i hear that there are some decent versions of games like street fighter 30th anniversary version or something like that. please let me know what you guys think about it.
is there like thousends of those clones? i don't want to spend another year to play all clones just to add 4 or 5 good clones to my MAME collection.
-
Thanks for answer. Im 100% sure, i choose this set because previously i download merged one and have problem with deleting the games i dont play.
-
Thanks Man. What about other questions? Maybe some clues? Is it right that one game used only one zip file and only one folder with chd file?
-
I just figured out that I will do it like this beforew reading your post ;']
it's good to know that my ideas are not that bad at all.
thanks again lord for instant help. salute.

ok thanks man. it is harder to add full romset to LB because i have to add not only .cue files but some .m3u files as well (i can't just search for .cue files in games folder) but i can deal with that.
peace.
-
Thanks a lot Lordmonkus for quick answer.
But should I add disc one .cue file to LB or the .m3u file? Sorry for bothering but I want to make it clear before adding games to LB because i find testing and changing after adding very frustrating.
peace.

Hi guys.
First of all thanks for the great tutorial for Sega Saturn emulation. I used LB for 4 years right now but i don't had time to deal with saturn before (i was busy with amiga, snes, megadrive and many more ;]). I got one question before i add my collection of Saturn games to LB. This was problematic when I deal with other platforms so I want to ask before I start adding roms.
WHAT'S WITH 2 OR MORE DISC GAMES? Sshould I only add disc 1 cue to LB and retroarch will automaticly find other discs? do I have to put them in the same folder as the disc 1? most collections got separate folder for each disc, should i join them?
Thanks in advance for answer.

Hi guys.
I have question regarding arcade games CHD files.
I have full non-merged MAME 0.179 romset. I spent more than year to test/play all the games from this release. I left in LB only the ones that I enjoy to play. Now I want to delete from my hard drive all the other games (that I remove from LB) because of the size of the fullset. I this is where I find problems.
If I understand correct one game needs only one zip file, so it will be easy to check for games that i left in LB what file LB is refer to for specific game and delete the other zip files (for games that I remove from LB). Is this correct? Or maybe some games used two or more zip files? (like I said I have non-merged version so all games are in separate files?).
Another (bigger) problem is CHD files because from what I read some games are using CHD files named different from zip file of this game, and LB only refer to zip file.
So the question is if there is some reference list where the games are assigned to CHD files? Are there CHD files used by few different games?
Any help will be appreciated.

Hey there,
as I stated, exo already released the new (launchbox friendly) versions of part of his exodos collection.
so, my suggestion would be to be patient, and stick to the adventure (3.1) and rpg (3.0) packs for now. This will ensure you an easy integration of those games.
Hi sorry to bother but where can I find new version? I think I'm good enough with google search, never had problems with findings but after a few try I decide to ask question and stop loosing time ;]
If You can't give direct links please tell me what should i put into google search...

Your letting lunchbox scrape your collection and wondering why stuffs getting renamed? The instructions were pretty clear.
Do not connect to the launchbox database.
Do not download ANY meta untill the import is complete.
That includes searching for game info.
Hi I got same problem. Like You write in tutorial I DID NOT download any metadata at the when I add bat files to the collection. I DID download metadata in the second step after backup my data file just like in the instruction, or maybe this means something different :

Ctrl-A eXoDOS collection
Download metadata
Choose what images/videos you want and on the last page uncheck all boxes.
After downloads are finished refresh close open LB and replace your eXoDOS.xml with the backup one if names have changed back to dupes .

Thanx a lot for the answer.
I don't know why but i was pretty sure they must be in one zip archive to assigned all discs (in multidisc games) to one game automatic.
I will unzipped all my adf games and scan them by FS-UAE. Thanx again.
Peace.

Hi all!
Zombeaver first of all big thanks for the tutorial. Amiga was my second computer after C64 back in '90 and i was crazy about it.
After one year of using LB and checking the posibilities right now i'm building my collection from the scratch paying attention to all the details.
I'm finishing my C64 collection right now and next one is Amiga. I was importing amiga games before using your tutorial but i can't remember one thing concerning ADF files. I knwo you dont mess with them too much but maybe You or any other user can help me.
Problem is that theres a lot of WHLoad Amiga games but not all of them, there are some that are only avalible in ADF format that I want in my collection. Last time I got some problems when I add ADF files, I had to add them again and there was some issues and I lost bunch of time reinastaling FS-UAE and doing everything from scratch.
It was connected with the ADF files - finally my question ;];];] - i do not remember if i should zip them in one files (multi disc games) or leave them separately in ADF format when scanning with FS-UAE ? I remember one method works and after scanning FS-UAE 'sse' them and add to collection and second option do not work and FS-UAE do not add them. Which method is correct - one zip files with multiple disc for one game or multiple discs in adf format?
Salute man and thanks again for the tutorial - truly the best tutorial for LB for me.

Hi!
I got question - could I name new platform different from "eXoDOS" ? I've got my own platform name convention that I want to maintain.

Props man. Problem solve. Thread can be closed.
Salute.

Hi! sorry to bother but what is the point in keeping Arcade collection and Final Burn collection? Isn't that the same Arcade games in both of them? Same with Sega Naomi, Delphine, etc. Or maybe You do not have Naomi games in Arcade platform collection? Maybe i miss something but this way theres a many duplicate games in Yours and others collection using the same game file from MAME collection.
