  1. Hi, I've got a BB setup that currently only has MAME installed and working, the only other system(s) I'll be adding are Windows/Steam games and Taito Type X. I'm attempting to go keyboard-less, and have every function I'd want on my arcade sticks (PS4). This is the guesswork on what I'd setup and need some help on how to go from here. MAME Controls (if it matters for the next part of my post): Now when it comes to PC games I understand I could probably use the PS/Guide Button to setup a AHK script to exit back to Big Box since a handful of games actually have and use a select button unlike my MAME experience. How would I do this specifically for that button (for both controllers) ?
  2. Is resource monitor a good option to track performance? Or any better programs? I've done most of the tweaks and tips in this thread, but I've now noticed that even though BB performance has improved, general OS not so much in comparison.
  3. Posting to gain some insight on a few performance issues I'm having with BB but mostly OS related (I'm assuming) Windows 10 i5-4590 @ 3.3Ghz 8GB Ram GTX 760 2 x 1TB HDD (Western Digital) Total imported games roughly 10K. Quick backstory to why I'm posting this is because, I originally started this Emulation build on one of my other systems (i5-2500K OC 4.3Ghz, 16gb Ram & GTX 560Ti, also Windows 10) The plan was to build the majority of the setup on this system since my new PSU was suspected "lost" in transit and then pull both HDDs over when it arrived or I was happy with the bulk of the work I had done. No issues at all and BB/LB seemed to go off without a hitch. One of those HDDs contains OS and LB install with a load of games, around 200GB free. The second HDD also has around 250GB free but contains purely games. Everything on the secondary HDD works in tandem with the first (thinking it's also C: with symbolic links) Since using them on the new build I've noticed a dramatic shift in startup time, the general snappiness in Windows isn't present anymore. I wouldn't say it's slow but it's sure not as quick as I readily expected before. At first I noticed one of the main problems was the 100% Disk usage I've noticed with many W10 machines. Fixed it, still no real performance improvement. All drivers up to date and checked, since it's an emulation machine all of the useless/non-used services have been disabled or set manual where necessary. I'm not entirely sure what's happened/why since I swapped them over my only conclusion is maybe amount of files/games I have stored but it's effecting BB quite a lot regardless. Any more info/tips to try let me know, thanks!
  4. Spent the majority of the last hour or so, trying to figure out why my remote wasn't working.. Turns out the RF receiver looks exactly the same as one of my receivers for a KB/M set which is bluetooth. Looks I'm on the hunt for this pesky thing lol. If worst comes to worst, I'll grab one of those Rii i25 remotes or another receiver. (The remote is tempting though) Ty guys.
  5. Don't think I worded my post right, meant to use either select or start as the hold button then either L or R to close window or return to LB. Sorry if you also meant that too. Brain fried today haha. How did you get to configure it in BB? I figured if my exit button on the remote was button 1 for example, even if it was plugged in along with a 360 controller. Button 1 on the controller would exit thinking it was button 1 on the remote, or maybe I'm just being backwards.
  6. Hey, so back again! Just purchased premium a day or two ago (was hoping on the giveaway but ah well! ) and had a few questions mainly controller related. With the controller automation options, I want to use select/start + L/R (LB & RB for clarity sake) for exiting to big box. Now setting the buttons is fine but if I unplug my 360 controller and plugin a SNES one, will I have to go through and remap controller automation for each one again? Will it also remember next time I plug those certain controllers in so that process doesn't have to be repeated? Since I'm going to integrate Kodi into the system. I have a OSMC Remote from a previous Pi build that I can use on PC. Can I use this inside of Bigbox anyway? (I thought I could set it up maybe in the way of a controller for exiting games & kodi etc)
  7. Hi, I use Fightcade for playing online and I can get Fightcade in LB but I have two problems. 1) Since Fightcade emulates using FBA, is there any command lines I could use to launch straight into the game from LB? EDIT: (rather than choosing the game in fightcade) 2) After opening Fightcade another box requires you to click login before the application fully opens. Would auto hotkey potentially fix this issue?
  8. I'm currently using epsxe for my PS1 emulation, but I did read it could use m3u files for disc swapping. Can anyone explain the process of how to use & swap with them in ePSXe, I did try searching but couldn't find anything adequate enough. I don't particularly want to, but if RA is my only choice for disc swapping (conveniently that is) then I'll do that.
  9. Hi guys, thanks for all the previous help. I've managed to tackle everything related to Retroarch fine now except a few problems. 1. The games load fullscreen, but I wanted it to stretch the image to my screen size. I couldn't find an option unless I'm being blind. 2. Upon load it says "100% usb gamepad" then "2064/58265 not configured" next to it. It gives no info to what it is that's not configured, nor was I sure it's related to the gamepad. Any ideas? 3. Also after I tackle the above problem, is there anyway to stop those extra dialogs/Retroarch notifications when I load? 4. Now when I load the bsnes core I'm using, then go to configs and load the custom one I have it seems to just exit Retroarch entirely straight after. It seems to load it fine when I open a game through Launchbox (I've set it to use that custom profile in the platforms section)
  10. Hi, just signed up to the forum but I've been tinkering with launchbox for a month or so now and need some advice. Originally played around with Launchbox on this PC but the plan is to do a fresh OS + LB install on another HDD I have lying around. Being absolutely oblivious to Retroarch before today (and then reading about it) I'm not sure what the best way to go about the way I emulate with LB is. The convenience factor aside, for the systems Retroarch supports will I get just as good or better results from it in general rather than specific platform emulators? Regardless of which way I'll set it all up, I'll eventually be buying premium for Big Box mode, and the navigation with a controller is bliss to me. I'll be using a variety of controllers across many platforms but can I configure multiple controllers to be able to control the UI no matter which I plug in at any given time or will I have to remap everytime I plug a different style controller in? If I have snes controllers plugged in, quit the game and go back to the frontend, can I unplug them and then use PS1/2 controllers instead for the UI (provided they were already mapped previously with intention to go play some psx) without having to reboot LB? I did see the setting up MAME tutorial for LB, and with the MAME import wizard. Can the skipping genres/prototypes etc process be applied to other systems in any way? (Sorting games with many millions of versions/clones/etc can be frustrating) Edit: I've come across an issue I have where I've imported let's say 100 games (mix of bootlegs, official, hacks etc) and out of that I deleted 20 from LB (not the files) and I want to move the remaining 80 games or cleanup the folder. Is there anyway I can get rid of all the games that aren't currently imported into LB for that platform without manually looking through? I may have more questions as I think of them, but thanks!
