  1. So....my Big Box is crashing every time I start it. Also, I got a ton of update requests before the big change. I tried opening BigBox from Launchbox, Launcbox Next and by itself. Anyone know where this might be coming from?
  2. Hello Apologies if this has been discussed recently but I have a few systems/arcade systems on my Launchbox and I'm trying to get through the metadata for all of it. It's a lot and it's a pain and it's super tedious. I've tried going through the download section to find any apps to add on to help but I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions for getting batch of videos, pictures or more accurate information for games? Right now I have my ways of getting gameplay video and adding it into the videos folder for each game. I go into each game and re-search (not research) to get more information on the games and as many pictures as possible before finding my own cabinet/pcb/etc. pictures.
  3. Hey. I've noticed a bunch of different forums online with people having issues (including myself) whenever they use the controller automation to shut down the emulator and go back to BigBox, it freezes. I've been going in circles trying to find someone with the answer. I found a topic on here about autohotkey scripts and took someones script, then modified it. I used... ; This section closes Fusion when pressing Escape 1Joy8:: ;you have to press 1Joy7 first:: { Process, Close, {{{StartupBigBox.EXE}}} };Exit You can replace "Fusion" with the name of the emulator, "Escape" with whatever shortcut is used to exit that emulator and replace the number "8" or "7" with whatever button you have assigned for the "hold" then press "this button" to exit a game. A pop error shows up, but if your emulator opens in full screen, the emulator will overlap it and allow you to use the controller to play the game and exit without any issues. Maybe someone can perfect what I've done so that there are no pops. I've only tested this out with Fusion (Sega genesis games), Snes9x and VLC (I imported a movie and TV shows into launchbox).
  4. I'm working on more then one machine. Ones a dual core Intel and the other is. Xeon Cpu. I only noticed the slowdown on the dual core machine. Whenever its scrolling through big box. Its using the IGP and has 4GB of ram. I ordered a low profile gpu for that one but figured I'd ask around when I start working on the Xeon machine (re-salvaged HP Z200). That's the one that will either have the 5570 or K2200.
  5. I should've been a little more detailed. Using the emulator alone isnt an issue (unless you're paying a newer arcade game like Garou) but when using Big Box as a front-end. Newer MAME games from the PlayStation era and later require more power.
  6. I have the option of either using a Radeon HD 5570 or a Quadro K2200. I'm more educated in using a Radeon HD series AMD card and the benefits of using s 5000 series for retro gaming but certain specs in the Quadro seem better but I know the Quadros are usually better suited for computing or CAD like software. Any Thoughts or Opinions?
  7. So, I've used Launchbox to play games on a desktop it's worked pretty well but I use an LCD. Although it has less then 5ms it, isn't the same as using a CRT. I can get access to either a CRT TV or CRT monitor, but I wanted to get some advice on getting near Arcade quality of a setup. I don't want to use any plugins or special effects within emulators, use a CRT and have a small desktop connected to it. It's pre-built from Dell, so my only option for I/O is VGA. Any suggestions on if I should get a Monitor or CRT TV? Should I get one that takes VGA or look into getting VGA to Component cables? I'm not stressing displaying 1080p. I am completely fine with displaying games in their meant resolutions, I'm more into the input response/refresh rate of a CRT when you put cost into play. Also, I don't have space for any monitors higher then 27 or interested in spending the kind of money that go with most monitors that were used to edit videos (the ones that still cost a couple hundred dollars). I also don't mind being given some online resources for my question, and I can take it from there. Please and thank you for your help. Hopefully I'm not missing any information.
