Yea I noticed some thread other day where some guy had the nerve to come on here & claim he "bought" a license from someone for a couple bucks I REALLY do not like the fact my name is shown on the menu tho, be cool if it could just be hidden even
-
I've seen couple posts regarding this in the past, and from what I remember, the only option then was to e-mail the developer to set up another name. Is that still the case? If so can someone fill me in on how to contact him about this? For the most part I love LB & I don't mean to come on here & complain some more, but that is a pretty bad idea IMO. No other software I can think of constantly displays my full name for all to see. I was even planning to bring laptop, arcade stick & Launchbox over a get together to have some fun, but sorry don't need to be sharing my name with everybody over the house
-
Well guess I'm wrong, but I was under the impression this was an offical forum ran by the creators & team of Launchbox. If I'm not mistaken when I first came on here I noticed alot of replies from the main developer himself...So IDK paying for software & believing there was an official forum to get help on for it, don't see how that would be so far fetched for someone to have a little sense of "entitlement" there

Well turns out they're not now...but on my backup hard drive they still are...which is weird because I copied every single folder over exactly the way I had it, but somehow they were deleted after I reinstalled LB?? I will try to copy them over & see if that works. Not sure if there's an import function I have to select, but will try to figure it out . Thanks

I appreciate that & sometimes I've gotten some good help on here, but quite few times I've never even gotten a response...This was fixed with the other poster's advice but this is the main problem I'm dealing with now that I really hope someone can help me resolve:
-
Ok well, forgive my misunderstanding on that one...this appeared to work...but honestly kind of let down with the support on here..it's been helpful at times, other times my questions never answered. This wasn't that big of a deal, but at the same time last night I post about a major problem of all the playlists I spent weeks putting together dissapearing after reinstalling LB & all it's folders, and I get crickets on it...Def not the 1st time either
-
Nope, that's not it...I tried installing the individual rom on it's own multiple times & each time unchecked the skip all clones box So guess I'm just screwed again, prob yet another LB issue no one will respond to on here with a solution
-
Ok didn't exactly know that...I mean you are one of the ppl that have helped me out so much as well as others I just assumed you were part of a LB staff...You are def appreciated, so don't get me wrong..playlists showed up again BTW..what a relief! thanks again

I had the Tekhan rom of Pleiades (pleiads) already & recently tried adding the Centuri version of Pleiades (pleiadce) because I learned that version has different features (an additional warp button, music, different sound effects, etc), but no luck importing it into LB. When doing so keeps telling me "0 roms imported" & it's not there in the menu to select & play like it does for some other games (For example, when I pull up Tapper, it gives me options to play Root Beer Tapper & other variants)

Recently started everything on my laptop from scratch & re-installed W10....I backed up all my files, including Launchbox folder & subfolders exactly the way I left them, but now none of my playlists (That I spent TONS of time on) are avaliable in LB/BB's menus it appears.. Please tell me there's a way to import them back from some file in one of those folders that I saved Thanks

Seem to have got cabinet images to show on the menu instead of flyers (for now)...anyways I've managed to find hundreds of em for my games over the past couple months, some decent & others not too great on quality...but these I couldn't find whatsoever..Some of these I would think were kinda common games too, but still appears to be nothing out there. By any chance some of u happen to have cabinet images for these games & could hook me up I would really appreciate it: Alex Kidd Athena Bonk Bonanza Bros Bubble Bobble 2 Bubble Memories Buccaneers Burning Fight Bust A Move Again Champion Wrestler City Connection Cliffhanger Ed Randy Columns '97 Columns 2 Dig Dug 2 Dynamite Duke Dynamite Dux Espial Fantasy Zone Fantasy Zone 2 Gaipolis Golden Tee '97 Green Beret Gunlock Hardhead Hardhead 2 Hatris Hoops '96 Hyper Athlete Hyper Olympics Hypersports Special Insector X Joe & Mac Returns Karnov's Revenge King Of Fighters (ALL) Kyros Liberation Lode Runner 2 Lode Runner 3 Lode Runner 4 Metal Slug 2 Nagano Winter Olympics Ninja/Ninja Princess Ninja Spirit Ordyne Parodius Peter Pepper's Ice Cream Factory Pipe Dream Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon Puzzle Bobble Puzzle Bobble 3 Puzzle Bobble 4 Rainbow Islands Rastan Saga Ray Crisis Ray Storm Red Earth Red Hawk Rolling Thunder 2 Samurai Shodown III Samurai Shodown IV Samurai Shodown V Samurai Shodown V Special Solomon's Key Spelunker Spelunker 2 Stinger Street Fighter EX Plus 2 Super Burger Time Super Puzzle Bobble Super Zola Pac Gal Taxi Driver Thunder & Lightning The Tower Of Druaga Ultimate Tennis Wonderboy III Monster Lair Xevious 3DG *Note ^ Quite a few of these games I've never even tried playing, just happened to see them on YT or somewhere & got em to try some day

Yea, I tried that, but not what I want...it's showing marquees now instead of the flyers & the cabinet images as background/fanart, but stretched & cropped like hell.. Before I reset everything I had it to where my marquees were my wheel images (which they still are it appears), the videosnap for each game plays (still works), and a smaller cabinet image for each game appeared above the videosnap when scrolling through games..just can't get it to again for some reason
-
Recently reset laptop/reinstalled Windows 10 from scratch...in the process of setting LB back up..but now I can't remember how to set the cabinet images to show within BB instead of the flyers. Thx in advance
-
Sorry I've been away for a while, but turns out alot of the roms weren't working because they didn't have the bios files..I found a complete bios pack, threw it in folder & more than half of them began working....I can tell now that some are most likely due to missing the parent roms, so when I get time going to try to go through them again & see
-
OK thx for the link, I installed MAMEUI64 (setting the audit option in MAME64 still didn't cause audit game to come up as a right click option)..and it is a confusing mess. It appears to list every emulated console & computer imaginable EXCEPT MAME/Arcade....If I open the interface up in full screen, it completely blocks the fucking game lists & there's no way to drag/resize the window...the only thing I managed to figure out was to go to avaliable, which shows EVERY MAME rom out there, and doing the only visible "audit" option scans EVERY single MAME rom in existence, the majority which I'm reminded are "not found" (NO SHIT!) Still not getting anywhere Also, going to try the qsound & some of the bios files that I know are missing....and yep a few are most likely CHD issues too..I have the CHDs for all games that need them, but they are OLD versions from couple years back
-
Looks like they are split
-
Don't see any option when right clicking in MAME64 to audit games....do I need MAMEUI64 for that? Trying to find a .185 version of that now, but keep seeing .187 only.....I never understood why MAME seems to get updated so freaking often either..I swear it feels like there's a new version & new roms to get every month or 2 Can't remember if it said merged or split either but will try to find out
-
OK thanks I'll have to try auditing them when I have time Positive it was a full set of roms, not updates...I deleted all my old roms too
-
Using .185, same as the romset I mentioned & it was MAME64 I'm pretty sure, so running an audit in that should tell me reasons for roms not working? &was there just a folder to put bios files in & it would be a matter of me finding ones I need & placing them in there to get certain games to work? Sorry I used to know this stuff a LONG time ago, but bad memory haha
-
More a MAME problem then LB specifically I suppose, but..I downloaded a .185 set that was on archive.org, kept the 600 or so games I had last from my old set..tested them all to see if they played & turns out over a whopping 100 of them don't work. I believe some might be a matter of me needing bios files, espec since TONS of Street Fighter/ 1-on-1 Fighting games from Capcom won't start up..but if anyone can shed some light on things for me I'd really appreciate it...Super frustrating having THIS many games not able to play Here they are, after I press play game, nothing happens, right back to the menu: 1944 19xx Afterburner AVP Arkanoid Arkanoid:Revenge Of Doh Astrochase Birdie King 3 Blasteroids Bump & Jump Bust A Move Again Chelnov Cliffhanger Colums 97 Continental Circus Cruisin USA Cruisin World Cube Quest Dark Stalkers Die Hard Discs Of Tron Domino Man Elevator Action Empire City Espial Extermination Frontline Gauntlet Dark Legacy Ghosts & Goblins Gorf Gradius Hatris Hyper Athletics Hyper Sports Special Indiana Jones Journey Judge Dred Kickman Killier Instinct Mach 3 Marvel Superheroes Marvel vs Street Fighter Marvel vs Capcom Mortal Kombat 4 Nagano Winter Olympics Nastar Warrior NBA Jam Extreme Ninja Peter Packrat Peter Pepper's Ice Cream Factory Pretty Sailor Moon Pooyan Primal Rage Punisher Puzzle Bobble 3 Puzzle Bobble 4 Qbert Qbert Qubes Raiden Fighters Raiden Fighters Jet Ray Crisis Ray Storm Red Hawk Renegade Ring King Roadblasters Roadrunner Samurai Showdown Samurai Showdown Special Satan's Hollow Saturday Night Slam Masters Simpsons Bowling Sly Spy Solar Fox Soul Edge Splatterhouse Street Fighter Alpha Street Fighter Alpha 2 Street Fighter Alpha 3 Street Fighter EX Street Fighter EX Plus Street Fighter EX 2 Street Fighter EX 2 Plus Street Fighter II:Hyper Fighting Super Puzzle Bobble Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo Super Street Fighter II Super Zola Pac Gal Tapper Tecmo Knight Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Tekken Tekken 2 Thunder & Lighting Tiger Heli Timber Two Crude UFO Robo Dangar Wargods Wizard Of Wor Xevious Xevious 3DG Xmen vs Street Fighter Xmen:Children Of The Atom Zookeeeper Zwackery

Better quality backrground images/fanart for BB?
stevaside replied to stevaside's topic in Troubleshooting
Thanks I did that but hardly any games in my collection show fan art at all...Isn't there a resource out there LB can scrape for more arcade fanart? I've wanted to be able to set arcade cabinet images instead of box art/flyers too & although I see this option is there & I checked it, it appears none of my games are showing them..Im positive I ran into sites out there with cabinet images for many arcade games, why isn't LB set to use the data from them ? -
Only using BB for MAME now & all it's doing for background images is taking portions of the arcade flyers, zooming in on them & stretching them, and they look like absolute CRAP on my 50" TV. Shouldn't there be some good quality fanart it scans for & uses from some database instead? I have all mine leftover from Hyperspin, but they were in zip files & almost all were animated images, with multiple files in them to move & overlay...Is there some way to convert these to still images anyone knows of either ? Thanks
-
Yea VLC...I rarely if ever use WMP for anything so it's all good & believe I already have that pack installed too
-
That worked...TY!!
