my updates folder is empty so the only version i have is version 7.10 - i take it you are trying to elimate the relation from version 7.10 and my version of w7 ?

its windows 7 and have to admit it it has been doing a lot of updates latley, cannot imagine whats causing it but tempted to try rolling it back - failing that reinstalling windows Can i ask, will my launchbox run from a secondary drive after a format as in does launchbox require registry connnection or does it leave any essential files in the root drive etc or will it run independalty and completley on another drive ?

right ok so thats interesting. Ive actually just backed up all folders from launchbox original, uninstalled it completley installed a fresh launchbox and without importing any info at all have setup a sole emulator Demul with the 50 games. I set it up, downloaded all meta and images etc booted into Big box and guess what ??? Same issue. Looks like its highly likley to be something external to launchbox thats caused it !!

its ok mate i really apppreciate all the suggestions. im just gonna try a fresh version and be systematic while scraping any content i have from the original install

yeah certainly seems that way. gonna see if it still occurs with a fresh install and 1 emulator next to eliminate anything external

deleted the usual way, clicking it in launchbox and clicking delete

ok ive checked there is actyually 6500 games on it not 11 thousand must have been when i was playing with some of the other emulators ive since deleted

ive actually followed the performance thread guide to get it running smoother in the first place. TBH it was really smooth when i had 7 or 8 thousand games on it - something has clearly triggered something off in it where abouts are the logs located on launchbox do you know ?

yeah its odd isnt it - as i said it was all running fine before that. I made a habit of installing one at a time, finishing all artwork, correct working roms and videos before checking in bigbox and moving onto next. yes ive tried the default theme and layout they are all the same in regards to slow, buggy and intermittent in loading images. The resolution of my arcade monitor is 1280x 720

yeah it does it on all themes. It was all running smooth as silk. I can remember installing the amiga emulator last and all ran fine in big box as i showed by brother and all was fine then the day after i put it back in the arcade cab and turned it on to show my sons friend and it did this. I thought itd just need to redownload images cache or refresh so ive removed the amiga emulator and gone back to a 4 point backup, changed theme, nothing seems to fix it. pc spec is an i5 with 8gb of ram, 128gb ssd and 3tb sata drive with a Radeon 270

that noise is me changing the theme layouts, as you can see the text one works but its when anything grtaphical needs to load it plays up

basically it runs really slowe, plays the sounds of the videos but not video - is missing the game box images and the wheels

im uploading a video itll explain the extent of the issue better

well installing over the top didnt fix it !
