Had my build for a couple of years with many platforms and playlist however have one bug. Early on I created a platform called arcade classics which now I want to delete however no matter what I try when I restart launchbox it insists on restoring the platform XML file in data from somewhere on start up or preventing me from making any lasting changes i.e adding or removing games ? Any help would be great

Backed up launch box installation from D drive to new SSD C drive leaving emulators and roms on D in their own directories and was interested to see performance gains however after running launchbox doesn’t recognise the paths to games or emulators. If I look at path it doesn’t display correctly as path is too long in dialogue box with no way of expanding but guessing launchbox has somehow changed them to the C drive ? Everything is still on D and original installation on D drive works fine just not exact copy on C. Any idea why it would change any setting just by copying ?

For your info as another test I copies launchbox to an external drive and ran it from my laptop with the same results so its definitely a behaviour of launchbox itself. Interestingly as yet another test I created a playlist called arcade classics and then deleted that with no issues ?

Thanks for the help what Ive tried was deleting my arcade classics platform which it does and removes from it platform.xlm I then set it to read only and shut down without issue. If I leave as read only launchbox wont start complaining it doesn't have write access to platform.xlm and hangs. I uncheck read only and restart and it undoes changes and I'm back to square one. The platform.xlm is being overwritten at startup some how ?

Nothing with back up in its name there.

To be clear Launchbox actions the request i.e delete,rename etc. however upon reset it reverts back even though I have deleted back ups etc. Im stuck not being able to make any permanent changes...

Yeah tried that, so playing a bit more I wanted to delete a platform so I right click, select delete then check platform.xlm to see if entry has gone which it has however when I restart launchbox its written back in ? I thought I would be clever and set the file to read only after launchbox has made the change but on restarting it obviously is writing to it as it complains of no access and hangs ? Have no idea why any change I make is undone upon restarting am kind of fed up now!

So had this issue a while but now bugging me as trying to clean up my platforms. I am unable to delete or hide any games on any platform? I select delete the game and it disappears however if I go back into platform its back again ? the hide function doesn't do anything other than report its hidden when its still visable ? any ideas please ?

Closed but when you open again the platform reappears as does the entry in the platform folder ?

I have a platform that when deleted just reappears on the next start up ? I have gone in and manually deleted from the platform folder but it just generates a new entry ? any help would be great.

I am wanting to make a copy of my launchbox installation on a separate drive for safe measure if I make the first copy including all the media initially what will I then have to copy over if I update launchbox or make any changes I obviously don't want to copy the whole thing everytime ? thanks

I also forgot if a game is only showing a blank or static image would this be updated to a video snap automatically too ? thanks again

So I have finished with adding all roms and media I have amassed over the years into launchbox but I still have things missing as you would expect. I have no intention of adding anything else and wonder if I was to join emu movies would it just fill in all the gaps automatically ? and what else would it exclusively add to the big box experience ? lastly what steps would I have to go through to accomplish this? Running LB 9, latest Snes9X, windows 10 and when launching a game I still see menu and launch bar on screen. I have added -fullscreen and played with options but still can get rid even when running it directly ? any help appreciated.
