  1. Ok. One was retroarch specific and the other general. I don't need to use retroach. I just want better graphics. With ePSXe the graphics are very pixelated.
  2. Found that. Can't seem to get it to work at all. That core only seems to work with 1 game file that is .cue. The others are .bin and that core doesn't seem to like them. On top of that, when I try the one game from Big Box it won't load. The .bin files will only allow a SwanStation core associated with them for playstation.
  3. I am looking for a good recommendation for a PS1 emulator. I tried retroarch's beetle core, but it won't seem to work with the majority of the files I have in. They are in .bin format. I have ePSXe but the video quality is meh and some of the games are choppy.
  4. It has been awhile since I set up lunchbox and retroarch. I wanted to change to the BeetlePSX emulator from the current one I have. I updated retroarch and launchbox but when I edit retroarch in the emulator management tool, beetlepsx isn't an option for Playstation. How can I set this up so launchbox will load retroarch with this core?
  5. I am having an issue with setting up retroarch as an emulator. I am not sure if the issue is with launchbox or retroarch. I have download the Mupen core in retroarch. However, when I try to run a rom out of retroarch using this core 2 things happen. 1st, I select the Mupen as the core and then select a N64 rom. At this point retroarch shows no core. I repeat and it shows the core in the bottom left corner but all I get is a black screen. When trying to use Launchbox, I get a "loading" screen then dropped back into launch box. the 2nd attempt gives me a black screen. When checking out retroarch in Launchbox I see that it says "no core downloaded" I have deleted and then redownloaded the cores in retroarch and the one I want is in my "core" folder.
  6. I thought was the case until I found that oxMupen version. I wonder how they got the games to be less pixelated when compared to other versions
  7. I tried using various separate versions and the retroarch versions of mupen and all have the same result, except one. They are all quite pixelated to some degree or another and the video quality is spotty. I assumed all the versions of Mupen were this way until I tried oxMupen64. With the few games I tried, this was very clean with crisp lines and good video quality. My primary game used for testing is Mario Kart 64. Unfortunately this version does not seem to be well supported and I am having issues making some basic changes, such as controller layout. I also can't figure out how to set stuff up to auto run. When I select the game to play out of big box, it loads the emulator but then I have to select the game from the list in the emulator. How can I make either the well supported stand alone versions of Mupen or the Retroarch version of Mupen run smoothly with little pixelation?
  8. I may have asked this question in the wrong forum before. Is there a way to restrict access to some games with a password or have a login with 2 different user accounts, 1 that can access all and one with restricted game access?
  9. Is there a way to limit what games a specific user can play? Like put a code or something on them? Or have a log in screen come up with multiple users and allows certain users to access certain games?
  10. OK Dumb question. How do I know if the HDMI cable can handle it? know the GPU and MB can

    Retroarch issues

When I did the genesis core there was no need to reboot. Just when I did these other 4. oh well, now to config them.

    Retroarch issues

I just learned something. I was going to run through exact files names and when I started launchbox now all of them were there. I guess after every core download I need to reboot. edit: by reboot I mean I shut the pc totally off last night and started it up this morning. During working on it last night, I had opened and closed both retroarch and launchbox a number of times. When I got frustrated I shut the whole thing down, made this post, and went to bed.

    Retroarch issues

That response doesn't make sense to me. I have downloaded 4 cores but my list is a few dozen. Some for counsels I have never tried to load into launchbox so there would be no emulator at all on my pc.

    Retroarch issues

This confuses me more. If the dropdown shows what I have donwnloaded, why are there cores there that I have not (like the Wii) and why does the column on the other side (I forget the header) say "Missing Core?" I thought maybe that, but there isn't an option to leave that cell blank.

    Retroarch issues

ok. The dropdown menu does not contain the entire list of available cores. What if I want to use one not in the dropdown menu?
