  1. I watched Lordmonkus' video and everything is working now. Thank you so much!!
  2. The website was very confusing for me.
  3. Ok, thanks. That makes sense. I didn't really see a version listed when I downloaded the ROM pack. I will check out the video.
  4. I downloaded one MAME Romset from a website and not a single game is working. Not sure what to do at this point. It was a part 1 of many rom game packs. I tried downloading another BIOS pack but I can't seem to find one for the most recent version of MAME. I really don't know what I am doing. Does anyone offer any services where I could pay them to login to my computer to set this up for me and get this working? Not sure if this is plausible for anyone to do.
  5. Thank you all for your patience and help.
  6. Ok, I will try that, thanks.
  7. I downloaded just a few games individually since I wanted to get MAME working and test it out initially. Don't have any ROM sets. I attached a picture of what I unzipped for Street Fighter Alpha and Marvel Super Heroes vs Street Fighter. (The two games that aren't working) I downloaded the USA Street Fighter Alpha and the USA Marvel Super Heroes vs Street Fighter links that were in a list of links from the same website.
  8. I must have corrected something Puzzle Bobble and King of Fighters are working now. The only game that isn't working is Street Fighter Alpha and I also forgot to mention I downloaded Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter. When I try to click to open those two games, the screen is black and the word initializing appears in the center for about half a second and then everything disappears and I am back at Launch Box.
  9. I unzipped the BIOS files in the folder with my games. I wasn't sure if the files inside the zip folder should also be extracted but I tried starting the games both before and after and some of the same games are still not starting up. I can try and search and see if I am missing something else I need to run the games. The BIOS files were just a pack of BIOS for MAME. King of Fighters 2003, Street Fighter Alpha and Puzzle Bobble do not open. I just have 14 games at the moment but the rest are working fine.
  10. When I downloaded the BIOS files from the website it said to put it in a folder that said startup. I'll try and follow the instructions you just sent.
  11. I saw a thread here: It said to change the file D6CF5EF5 to dl.1425.bin and to put it back into the Gsound zip folder. I did this and the game still won't start up. The Gsound zip folder is located on an external hardrive in my games rom files. I did just put a stack of the MAME bios zip files into a folder I created called Startup inside the MAME emulator folder in LB. I don't know if that is what I was supposed to do or if this has anything to do with certain games not starting up as well.
  12. I don't see that file name inside the zip folder. I'll try and see if I can find it somewhere else online. Thanks!
  13. Thanks. I downloaded the qsound bios and just put it in where I have all my Mame Rom files and Street Fighter Alpha still isn't working. Is there a pack of BIOS or other needed files anywhere for say popular MAME games? I also have a dolphin bar and Wii controllers with a Wii gun. Can I use this to play 2 player MAME shooting games?
  14. Oh great it's working. I'm noticing some of my games like Street Fighter Alpha are still not starting up but Mortal Combat 3 is for example. Is the issue that the some of these roms just don't work or do I need to install any bios files somewhere?
  15. I followed your instructions and the games are running. Thanks! I am using an Xbox 360 controller and pressed tab and mapped some of the keys but nothing is happening in game. There are a lot of player buttons you can program so I am not sure which ones are needed for a typical game? I was trying to play Burger Time but when I hit start or select nothing happened. None of the other games are working with the controller either.
  16. Oh ok, I wasn't sure if there was supposed to be a folder created since I had read on a page about the BIOS to also put it in a startup folder. I thought maybe this was already all suppose to exist somewhere after extraction. I will just delete everything and then download MAME from your link. I'll make a MAME folder to extract the files to and then go back to your tutorial. I usually keep all my emulators in my LB emulator folder. Thank you for the help!
  17. I started reading the tutorial but I am confused because most of my other emulators create a folder when unzipped with the name of the emulator and files inside but I don't have a MAME folder. Am I supposed to create a MAME folder specifically for what is unzipped when I download MAME? I keep reading to put things inside a MAME folder but I don't have one. I have a MAME folder for my ROMS but not a folder for the MAME emulator application.
  18. Not sure what I need to do. I downloaded a zip file of MAME 0.196. I unzipped it and placed the application in my Emulators folder in LB. I installed some MAME roms and they were successfully added to LB. When I click to play any of the MAME games the screen just goes black for a half second and nothing happens. I went to install the BIOS for MAME and have the folder with the BIOS and inside are many zipped BIOS for MAME. The instructions I read for the BIOS says to look on my C: drive and put the BIOS folder in my startup MAME folder but when I unzipped MAME it was just an application, a SYM file and some config files and it didn't have a folder with sub categories or anything with the word startup. I don't know if this is why none of the games are working or if there is something else I am doing wrong. Can anyone offer any guidance?
  19. Oh ok, thanks for the info. I was worried I messed up by not playing it on Steam first. Simpler games don’t install any extra stuff when you click play so I didn’t think of it at the time. I have all my other Steam games on LB. I will have to see if this happens with other new games I buy and try to add to LB. This was the first new game I tried to add after I previously imported over all my Steam games. It said it successfully added Mortal Combat X too which is strange since it doesn’t actually exist in LB. It’s too bad since it’s one of the games I’m using for a video game party so will have to exit LB to play it. It would be nice to have all my Steam games on LB/BB but I guess it isn’t a big deal. Thanks for the help.
  20. I downloaded Mortal Combat X on Steam. I hadn't actually clicked to play the game yet on Steam before I added it to my LaunchBox but it had finished fully downloading. LaunchBox said the game was successfully added but it does not exist in my library. When I went back and clicked to play Mortal Combat X on Steam there was a further installation of some files for the game. I tried to re-add the game to LaunchBox but it is not finding Mortal Combat X via the wizard. I went to audit on LaunchBox and it's not there on the list either. I couldn't find a way to search for a Steam game via a specific file and I may have messed up by adding Mortal Combat X when it finished downloading but before actually playing it and running the final install files. Is there any way for me to get this game still on my LaunchBox?
  21. I used the *.gba" search and moved them over to the main folder and it found the roms! I guess that was the issue. Doh! Thanks!!
  22. I was able to import my Game Boy games even though they were still in folders so I thought maybe that would work with the .gba games. I wondered if that was the issue so I tried to import one game and went into the sub folder and it still didn't come up. I will try to take some out and put it into the main folder and see if that helps. It's worth a shot. Thanks. I wasn't sure actually how to get them all out of the folders in one place without dragging them out one by one. So thanks for the tip.
