  1. Hi I've got an issue with launchbox/bigbox, where when I run a game after a boot it takes MUCH longer than subsequent runs For example, running "mame64 defender" takes 2 or 3 seconds. Running the same game through launchbox takes around 10 seconds - slightly longer. But running the same game through launchbox or bigbox after a reboot (even an hour after reboot) takes 45 seconds. Its only on a reboot that the longer start is an issue - stopping and starting launchbox is fine. Any idea what is taking a first run so long? 45 secs for a small game on a cabinet is painful.... so anything I can do to shorten that time would be good...
  2. Thank you so much! It works a treat, and exactly what I was after...
  3. I realise that this is an old thread from 2 years ago, but this is still a problem. MAME SLs still dont seem to be supported as yet. I can create launchers for specific games by hand of course, and import some of the available games - but thats not great. I suppose I could code a script to generate a launchbox playlist from a mame software list xml as a workaround - that seems possible at least - maybe someone cleverer than me has already done that? Does anyone know?
  4. Nope - its not Parsec. I unloaded and uninstalled Parsec, then got the issue on the 2nd reboot
  5. My unit uses Ultramac 360 arcade joysticks, as well as a ultimarc mini-pac board for keyboard emulaton - so yes to both. And I get the condition with both the keyboard AND the joystick buttons. I just did a test to check for you - it took 3 goes (3 reboots) before I get the issue, so its not everytime. I can do a video for you if need me to illustrate it in that state, or provide any config logs thats needed. One thing thats new that it could be - a few weeks ago I installed Parsec so I can remotely play the games on my cabinet - and its possible thats the cause. I'll uninstall Parsec and see if I can reproduce the issue and get back to you.
  6. Yes thats what I thought as well. But since it fixes itself after you select a different platform then go back - but NOT when you go into the selected default platform (ie you can go back to the master menu and the fault persists until you select a differnet platform) this indicates to me a bug of some sort. If it was a double press, then it would happen every time, or you would get a double press when doing a different first action on boot if it was other interfering software.
  7. Correction - its NOT the theme. I booted up my arcade this morning with the CityHunter2 theme - same issue. Selecting my SC-3000 machine (default), went straight into the game I was testing yesterday, and I cant get to the game list - same bug.
  8. Yes, it seems to be the theme. I swapped to "CityHunter2" - and the issue went away.
  9. Hi I dont know if this is the right place to post a bug report - but here goes. I've just been getting v220 of mame working in my cabinet, and I found an annoying bug in bigbox (v10.14). When my cabinet boots up it goes to the bigbox "platform" menu. IF you just hit enter there without selecting a different platform from the default thats been highlighted (ie the one used last), it will jump straight into the game menu of the last game you played - instead of going to the game list menu. Hit ESC and you go back to the platform menu - ie, you cant get to the gamelist!! if you then select a different platform (you dont need to go into it) then go back to the initial one and hit ENTER - it then goes into the games list like it should. I'm using the BARTOP theme, so I dont know if its the theme, or a bigbox "feature".
  10. Thank you, the latest version (10.13) fixes the problem
  11. Hi, I'm running bigbox on my arcade machine, and its been great. I've got a forever licence. However since the last update (10.11), when the arcade machine boots the BigBox slash screen stays on the screen for 5 minutes or so (I've timed it) before the games finally come up. If I start it from launchbox, or restart it within bigbox, its only taking 15 seconds. It always used to boot quickly - only 15 secs or so for the splash screen to give way to the games list. Nothing else has changed apart from the update, Any ideas? This is running on an Intel i5 3570K at 3.40 GHz, with a GTX680 video card, 16G memory, and a sabretooth Z77 motherboard - so while its not cutting edge in 2020, its still a fairly decent gaming machine - It runs Crysis 3 no trouble - so its more than enough for the job. And the boot drive (where launchbox lives too) is a very fast M.2 SSD, although the MAME games live on its own 6TB mechanical drive. It SHOULD be quick, even though there's 14450 games imported. I'd hate to reinstall from scratch - its taken an age to get it as I like it with the games lists and art.... thanks.
  12. Ok - But I would have assumed that any editable field would be "bulk" editable as well. Hence my thinking . I only have a few switch roms - so its no biggie to do it manually for now... I hope broken can be added to the bulk editor eventually though.
  13. I recently setup a new emulator for the Nintendo Switch As you can appreciate not may roms will work as yet, so I want to mark a large number as "broken". So I used "bulk edit" - and I was suprised to see that "broken" wasnt an option anywhere. "hide" was there, but not "broken". I thought it might be hidden in one of the other options but I couldnt find it. I think this is a bug. I'm a lifetime subriber of Launchbox, and I'm using the latest release.
