Sigord
Why does LB not accept a BAT file as below but ordinary Dos CMD will accept it ? CD C:\DOS\GAMES\BLASTER BLAST CD C:\DOS\HMENU PAUSE How do we replace the large Icons for each Game etc. with very small icons or names to allow the opening menu to show many more options? Is it possible to get LB to accept simple commands like DOS and the original DOSBOX such as CD DIR EXIT etc. ? Thanks Gordon
Jason Carr
Hi Gordon, welcome. LaunchBox should accept a .bat file, if you put it into an actual .bat file. The other option is to leave the application startup file blank, and then put custom commands in the DOSBox.conf file. You can reduce the size of the box art with the sizer in the button bar at the bottom of the window.
Sigord
Thanks I managed to make a few minor changes to my BAT file to run my old DOS menu of 230 Games and software. I notice there is no command line option to enter say DIR etc, but I have my own very simple DOSshell.exe I concocted many years ago with Quickbasic. I will upload a copy to my site if anyone wants it. Also a nice old PCA file manager if it is safe for anyone to have a copy. It also works with Win XP and Win 7 32 bit etc but beware a sound tone cannot be stopped under Windows unless you log out etc. I bought the Premium version deleted LB, reinstalled it and copied the ZML file supplied into the same folder, but no change appears to have happened. Sigord
Premium upgrade now showing OK. The problem was some how the filename of Licence.xml got changed to LaunchBoxLicence.xml A tip for some EDIT.COM supplied with Windows still works under DOS Thanks
