PS2 (pcsx2) slowdown

Hi there,

For some reason when i go into launchbox, and every emulator i go through (even dolphin) and play them in big box mode, they run at exactly the same speed as if you would launch them in your normal windows desktop folder.

But for some reason with the launching of playstation 2 games in big box it slows ALL games down.

Does anyone know why this is please?

No worries, my question was mostly the least-worst "shot in the dark" thing I could think of to look at in trying to isolate the issue to something specific. I'm guessing @Baz_Rock probably is getting "full speed" outside of BB, but you're correct that it's not specified in that post, so actually is something worth establishing. PS2 emulation is actually very demanding, and even my "big fancy gaming rig" can have issues with it depending on the game and stuff I'm trying to do.

I triedI using pcsx2 on it's own outside of bigbox and it runs normally.

I run 3200x1800 background images for each game in bigbox for use on my 4k screen, and I thought to myself that maybe it is worth creating the same image for a ps2 game in bigbox but with much lower resolution, so I tried that and that didn't make a difference in slowdown when running pcsx2. So it is just bigbox causing pcsx2 to run slowly.
