Many use MAME PC dated or Mini PC with CPU Baytrail or Cherrytrail where the HLSL  filter can not be activated specifically in relation to the absence of separate GPU.
I rediscovered a Mame function with a special mask used as a filter, which does not regret HLSL for lower spec PCs.

unzip the "ARTWORK" Mame Folder .
Once you placed the file in the folder, open mame.ini
and write the filter you want to use (including .png as in the photo)
