sayuncle70
Before I get too far into the weeds here, I want to make sure that I'm actually having a problem, and not a license restriction. Loving Launchbox so far! I've successfully set up all of my classic arcade roms using Retroarch. Everything went flawlessly! I was shocked at how easy it was. Next I repeated the procedure with my Sega Genesis collection but it doesn't show up as an additional platform in the chooser on the left. Before I go solution hunting I wanted to make sure that this wasn't a restriction due to the fact that I have not yet registered Launchbox. You know, old crippleware style. You can use our product for free, but you can't use much of it Is there such a restriction or should I start hunting solutions? Thanks gang. Lordmonkus
Nope, this is not a restriction on the free version at all. The only real major restrictions are BigBox more and controller automation and a couple of very minor ones. Have you imported any Genesis games at all ? If not then they will show up once you do, just import a bunch of Genesis games and when asked for which platform just type it in if it's not in the drop down menu. sayuncle70
Yeah, I used the wizard and everything went as planned. Imported around 300 games and watched the status bar go green as it brought in all of the artwork. When it was finished there simply wasn't an entry in the category selection list on the left of the screen. There was only 'Arcade" When I went into the tools section I could see that it was set up to have two platforms, and they were the correct ones, but it simply doesn't show on the selections screen. I'll invest some effort on it now that I know it's not a usage limitation! Thanks for your speedy response!
Lordmonkus
If you view all games do your games show in the list ? Also make sure you have the list view set to Platform like in the pic:
sayuncle70
I've figured it out. Core wasn't installed in retroarch. reinstalled and added core THEN added games in Launchbox and all is good. Thank you!
Lordmonkus
Even without the core if the roms were imported to the platform with an emulator (in this case Retroarch) the games should at least be there in the platform even if they don't load. Glad you got it all sorted out though.
