N64 games running slow

Hi, this my first post so please be nice,

i am running retro arch using the standard n64 emulator and certain games mario party is one is running slow, very slow any ideas how to speed it up thanks in advance

Any performance related issues with an emulator should be directed at the the emulators forums or check their compatibility and F.A.Q.s for known issues with certain games.
