How do I set extension priorities?

Due to space limitations (my 4TB drive is already packed with disc images) I use .7z archives for CD/DVD systems. I don't mind waiting a minute or two for them to load, I'm fine with it.

However, I can't find where the filetype priorities for each emulator are. I extract the archives with "Extract ROM archives before running" (LB's method I guess?) and the games load normally.

I'm not quite sure though, as my images are in bin/cue format, if I'm loading the .bin instead of the .cue sheet and I will face problems once another track should be loaded at some point by the emulator.

How do I make sure that both .cue and .bin files are temporarily extracted and the emulator always loads the .cue file?
