Aim-Trak Lightgun & Launchbox Issue

Hello!

First and foremost, I must say Launchbox is an awesome frontend setting up compared to hyperspin. I have setup and had hyperspin running and am a paid member for both frontends. This one just worked and did what it said it would. Thank god for no more messing around with different software's to get things rolling on joysticks and what not. I can't wait to add more systems with ease, also it looks great compared to the others out there. So with that said, thank you for making a great frontend!

Now, I have MameUI64 0.201 setup and I have dual Aim-Trak light guns that are running fully updated firmware and updated software to configure them from ultimarc. I configured MameUI64 to get them working and they both programmed from the MameUI64 interface while in a game. I had to go into the Mame ini file and add the light guns in etc. Now when I go in and launch the games from Launchbox, it shows them as cursers in a copper color mouse pointer. They won't configure again in the tab settings and won't work at all. But If I load from the MameUI64 interface they work great. What am I missing? Why is Launchbox taking over and making them a mouse or using a mouse pointer? Its pretty wild to me and for the first time I am frustrated trying to figure it out. I'm guessing maybe there is a setting in Launchbox that changes this or maybe its in Big Box? I'm not exactly sure.

Thanks,

Conrad

I cant exactly help with this issue but no there is no option in Launchbox/Bigbox that will interfere with this unless you have specifically setup your mame emu with some sort of extra command lines. Although you say you are using MAMEUI, you can try copying the mame.ini out of the ini folder and into the root MAMEUI folder and see if that helps.

Hi Neil,

I ended up messing with settings and all. I tried that and its working now. I copied that into the root folder just in case and its working. Thank you!

Yeah there seems to be a weird bug with MAMEUI that when a game is loaded via the command line rather than its own UI the mame.ini in the ini folder isnt read for some reason, so it needs to be copied to the root folder then its read as normal, strange but there you go.

Glad you got it all working now. :)
