sofakng
I've setup a MAME cabinet using an older Intel E8400 CPU (3.0 GHz, dual core) and 4 GB of RAM. It's running Windows 10 x64 with CRT Emudriver and GroovyMAME installed. However, when I run Big Box (with the default theme) it's incredibly sluggish to display each movie and move between menu items. I have all of the artwork installed (Emu Movies) and about 600 games. Does Big Box need a newer/faster CPU?
Lordmonkus
More ram would go a long way in improving performance, 4 gigs on Windows 10 is definitely on the low side, you should have at least 8 gigs.
James35
Yes, I agree with what Lordmonkus said. Windows 10 alone will be suffering with only 4 gigs of ram let alone any programs on top of it. Prices are coming down. If you can swing 16GB, go for it.
sofakng
Thanks guys. I'm going to upgrade to an Intel i3-8100 (or maybe AMD) and at least 8 GB of RAM. Thanks again!
