Holaman
Hey team, I searched all over the internet and posted on multiple forums but cannot seem to find an answer. I just downloaded retroarch 1.7.7. At first it wouldn't open at all. Then I added a video driver d3d9 to the config and it opens to a black screen. I'm stuck. Please help! Lordmonkus
In my experience black screens on loading in RA are caused by a shader being loaded that is incompatible with either the core itself because of driver (ie: slang shader with Mupen64 core which is GL only) or incompatible with the video driver itself. Try changing your video driver back to OpenGL, open the retroarch.cfg and do a search for: video_driver = set it to: video_driver = "gl"
Holaman
Thanks for the response. I changed the video driver as suggested and now it won't open at all. Not even an error message.
Lordmonkus
Delete your retroarch.cfg and all the folders in your Retroarch\Config folder if there are any, sounds like you have something really messed up.
Holaman
Config folders and CFG files deleted. Still will not open. The CFG file popped back up and the only line in it is config_save_on_exit = "true"
Lordmonkus
Then you got something really weird going on, deleting the config files basically reset s RA back to defaults.
Holaman
Ok. So I have something weird going on. I'm still troubleshooting with no luck. If you can this of anything else, please let me know. This is extremely aggravating.
Lordmonkus
If it doesn't at least load up out of the box then I have no clue what to tell you and you would be better off asking over on the Retroarch forums, it sounds like it might be some sort of video card driver issue. Holaman
You wouldn't happen to know how I get tech support over there, would you? It will not send me my login email and it won't let me create a new account from my IP.
