momentarydogma
I installed LaunchBox 9.7 a couple months back on one machine, and it has worked absolutely flawlessly-- I had a 2TB drive that I meticulously added all of my games to and customized them to my liking. I recently decided to upgrade to a better PC, and (I guess) made the mistake of installing 10.1 on the new system's SSD before moving over the customized 2TB drive with 9.7 to the new machine. I connected the 2TB drive to the new PC and figured I could just copy the contents from the default directory (in the Users folder) on the main SSD to the 2TB drive. However, when I try to launch the .exe file, it does nothing at all-- the LB launch screen comes up and disappears after a few seconds without launching the program. Having backed up the old 9.7 files, I restored them and it worked perfectly fine as it did on the old PC-- when I launched the 9.7 .exe, it notified me that there was an update available, but when I tried to install it, it gave me an error message (sorry, can't recall what it was, but it had to do with directories). My next idea was to download the 10.1 install file and change the install location to the 2TB drive, which I have set to G:, and it appears to install just fine, but again, when I try to run it, it just shows the launch screen for a few seconds and then it goes away. After doing that, I attempted to restore the 9.7 files yet again, but now they also behave the same way that the 10.1 files do-- I see a launch screen for about 6 or 7 seconds and then it disappears without LB opening up. Just not sure what to do at this point-- I want to use my previously-configured 2TB drive with LaunchBox 10.1, but I can't figure out any way to do so, and now it seems as if I just have to start from scratch. All of my ROMs and such appear to be intact on the 2TB drive, but I can't seem to actually run any iteration of LaunchBox at the moment. Any ideas? Retro808
Been quite a few posts about it. Take a look here for one.
momentarydogma
I saw those but none of them fix the issue so I assume I have a different problem. The users on Win10 (like me) solved it by installing 10.1 or disabling antivirus software (in that case, Kaspersky), but I don't have any anti-virus enabled and it's a super-clean install otherwise. I finally got it to install on my C drive, but that's a smaller SSD, so I want to install it on the 2TB drive, which doesn't work.
