angryherbalist Posted September 22, 2019 Posted September 22, 2019 Since rom names are pretty standardized, is there a utility that takes a list of rom names and converts them to the Playlist xml recognized by Launchbox? I'm getting setup here and I'm looking at this daunting task, getting stressed out about it Who could develop that, and can we all pitch in a few bucks to make that happen? Then we could trade rom list files and use the utility to generate the playlist. Quote
gmee123 Posted July 11, 2020 Posted July 11, 2020 (edited) I know this is an old post and am a little surprised no one has responded. Why would you need to do this? Launchbox creates the list when you import the games. You literally don't have to do a thing other than import. Edited July 11, 2020 by gmee123 Quote
TIBS Posted Sunday at 10:53 AM Posted Sunday at 10:53 AM Late to this but one reason for this being useful is if you'd been using an alternate frontend for MAME, had made your own list of favourites within that, and now want to migrate to LaunchBox. In this case, taking the txt file from e.g. MAMEClassic and working with that to replicate said list as a playlist in LaunchBox would be a far more efficient method of recreating it rather than going through your entire library again. FWIW, I plan to just knock up a simple txt-in > txt-out prog to do this for me, was just trying to find if it's the ROM names needed for the playlist or the actual game names which brought me here.
