Eric441
Hi guys. First time posting here. I hope you can help me. I'm just trying to see if Launchbox/Big box will give me what I need. 1. Can I shut down my computer with a controller from the UI without needing keyboard/mouse? (I started using Emulationstation on Windows but the Shut down option just closes the application.) I want to have my computer as a console connected to the TV, with no keyboard or mouse connected (unless making changes etc). 2. Will my 8bitdo controllers work? I have SF30 pro. 3. Can I play multiplayer games with 3 controllers at once? (E.g. N64 Goldeneye, Gamecube Mario Kart) 4. Can it all be fully portable? Launchbox itself and all emulators and roms on an external drive. 5. Does it feel like a console experience, or do you see actual Windows opening and closing or see bars at the top of the screen with File etc when you're playing games. If the answers to any of the above differs depending on whether it's the free or premium version, please let me know that as well. Thanks a lot. You can shutdown your PC from within the Bigbox UI, which is part of the premium license. 2. Yes. 3. That will be down to whatever emulators you choose to use as to how they handle controllers, multiples of the same controllers can be a little problematic as they may not be seen as individual controllers. 4. Launchbox itself is portable, as are most emulators, so as long as you choose the right emulators, yes. 5. If you buy a license for Bigbox and you setup your emulators correctly then yes you will just transition from the Bigbox UI straight into a fullscreen game. neil9000
So it sounds like you want a controller driven console type of experience, so you will need to buy a premium license so that you have access to Bigbox, which is our controller driven 10 foot interface. You will do all your setup in the Launchbox desktop app with a mouse and keyboard, but once setup and configured you can launch any game from Bigbox mode.
