acidim Posted March 8, 2020 Share Posted March 8, 2020 Is anyone aware of a database/xml/json file(s) that exists for the various consoles or platforms that is similar to the controls.ini file that's available for mame? Basically I'm looking for a per-game description that would detail what each button actually does. For example, I'd like to know that for the NES platform: Excitebike: A = Accelerate, B = Turbo Super Mario Bros: A = Jump/Swim, B = Accelerate/Fireball The reason I'm asking is because I'm creating a program that will display the controller layout and description on a secondary display on my arcade cabinet based on the selected game. Works great for MAME as I've been able to find files that provide the additional info but for consoles I'm stuck with generic controller labels.
