Bigbox launch failure.

So after a few months of bigbox working fine it just stopped one day. When I launch it you hear the audio of bigbox and the artwork splash screen but then it closes.

So after trying uninstalling, re-installing the software (and copying my folders for my roms, emulators and videos etc). The issue remained so I ended up formating my pc and re-installing everything from scratch. Sadly the result was the same.

I tried deleting all my files (kept a backup) and did a vanilla install. I had to setup one emulator and roms (otherwise bigbox wont work) and I tried to launch it again. That worked but I have spent years getting all my roms and emulators with videos for each game so I really need to get bogbox to work with all my games and videos.

So I need help! How can I find out why the app crashes? Also what folders must I migrate in order for my settings, videos, roms and emulators can be migrated to my new install?

Thanks in advance!

PS: I have attached the log of the error in this post.

I would take your new install that is working and move over the all the data files from the previous install to it. Only do the files in folder UNDER data, not the files in the root of data (Settings.xml, BigBoxSettings.xml, etc). Those files have all your platform, playlist, and game information in them. Try to open Big Box after that and see if it works. If not you may need to do it one at a time and see which breaks it as you could have a potential data issue causing the error. IF that works you can start migrating your media back over (Images and Videos folder).

Thanks that worked!

It looks like the bigboxsettings.xml was the culprit. More specifically the controller settings.

Something would freak it out and instantly crash every time I enabled it.
