Deleting Roms In Playlist

One of my cabinets is a spinner/trackball cabinet and I want to import the full MAME set using the categories, and then delete all the roms within the categories that don't use the controls on my control panel. But it didn't let me. Anyone know how to filter roms in this manner, or similar?
