When the installer gets to the end and says installing\updating direct x the system hangs, reboots automatically, and an event is created for a bugcheck reboot. Windows 10 edu 2004, 19041.450.  It doesn't seem to affect Launchbox since the actual installation is complete.  I would prefer it not to crash my PC though for 11.5.

@theflashmastab Unfortunately I think this is likely a system issue. The DirectX installer is straight from Microsoft, and if it's causing the system to reboot, there's probably something going on with the system (I also haven't heard of this from anyone else). Can you post the event entry here so I can confirm?

It appears to be related to nvlddmkm crapping out right after the directx installer finishes.  Doing the directx install manually was fine, nvlddmkm stopped but recovered and the system was fine.  With the launchbox installer I see that same service error but no recovery and eventually requires a reboot.  It seems to be a nvidia driver issue but strange that this is the first time I've ever seen it.

Yeah, that's pretty odd. First I've heard of that too. Video drivers are often cause for some weird issues though.

Thanks for providing the installer.  Between it and the whole launchbox installer I was able to narrow it down to the latest 452.06 game ready drivers.  Once I went back to the 451.98 vulkan beta (better since you can use async comp) there have been no issues.  I still have no clue why but everything is clicking along again now.
