16-bitwarsurvivor
I just recently discovered LaunchBox and have really loved reading about it and moving over my game collection. It's been very easy for the most part. But i've run into two issues. 1. I moved my PSP collection over and the games all run fine but I have no artwork, screen shots, game cases, etc. I've ran the "download meta and media" program and it downloads some media but nothing shows up. I've had no issue with downloading art, cases, etc. for any of my other systems. Any help would be appreciated. 2. I have gathered together a collection of hacked games for older systems and have moved them into Launch Box. I was surprised that many of them even had some artwork! But when I try and run the game through Launch Box, it doesn't start up. It works fine if I open up Retroarch. I can't seem to figure out what the issue is. Again, any help would be appreciated. How are your roms named, and are you sure you picked Sony PSP as the platform during import? 1 minute ago, 16-bitwarsurvivor said: 2. If they are imported to there respective platforms they should use the emulator and settings you already set for that platform, so if they are not working are you sure they work with the core you currently have set in Launchbox? They are all named according to the titles (for example... 0007 - Ridge Racer (USA).7z) and all show up in the Sony PSP folder. It's weird because all of the games are there in clear boxes but there's no art work. And this has just happened with the PSP stuff. I moved my N64 collection over and all the artwork showed up. On the hacks...I see what your saying. I actually put them in a platform for "hacks" and not their particular system. That is probably the key. I actually put them in a platform for "hacks" and not their particular system. That is probably the key. You can put them anywhere you like and can call the platform anything you like, but you cant mix different games from different platforms into one platform as Launchbox needs you to specify a platform at import. This is in fact what it uses to know what platform in our database to scrape the games against, again you can name the platform what you like, but when you type a non standard name you will then also be asked to specify a "Scrape As" this is so Launchbox can still scrape correctly, regardless of how you named the system, mixing games from several platforms into one Platform will never scrape correctly. 6 minutes ago, 16-bitwarsurvivor said: They are all named according to the titles (for example... 0007 - Ridge Racer (USA).7z) and all show up in the Sony PSP folder. That is your issue, your games have extra naming to them like your Ridge Racer example has 0007 - before the actual name, so Launchbox thinks those numbers are part of the game name, and then of course that doesnt match anything in our database. You need to remove those numbers from all your games, you can do that in bulk with a program like Bulk Rename Utility.

So you can import them with the "scrape as" set correctly for the platform they are for, then after everything is imported you can go to Tools/Manage Platforms and create a new platform and name it what you like, say Hacks. You can then go by platform and highlight the hacks by holding CTRL and clicking on the games to move, then right click one and choose edit, this will open the bulk edit wizard, from here you can choose platform from the dropdown, and then when the second dropdown appears choose the Hacks platform to move all the highlighted games there.
