Have a look to see if you have the neo geo bios files if you are using MAME set, or they won't run.

Hi zugswang,

Thank you, according to the video, i've had to find my own bios files which i have and insert them in folder where the ROMS are located. i have pasted all the bios files i could find in there.

In LB go to manage emulators and select the Neo Geo Emulator. I am sorry I can't get to my launch box to say specifically but there are 2 boxes that need to be ticked, one box is on top of the other. But this worked for me.

They need to be the correct bios files for the version of MAME you are using, eg MAME 0.228 needs MAME 0.228 bios files etc

@Jodisa Your first post says you had it working in Retroarch which means you already have the correct bios. So it is not a bios issue. You then said you messed with settings and now it does not work. Messed with settings where? In Launchbox or Retroarch?

@Retro808 Apolgies, I followed some else's YouTube video and it was using MAME so it worked in retroarch. -I don't want MAME as it got too complicated with input configurations and now that it is not working again im dont really want to go through all that process again. However in retroarch now it states 'bios files must be in ROM directory'.

I am starting to think it is a bios problem maybe i havent found the correct one ? Im also not sure whether it should be zip file or just a folder.

I followed these steps as per the youtube video:

1)      I went to tools insert rom files.

2)      Added files and selected all –only added 3 game ROMS and all BIOS as I would like to test.

3)      Created a new platform ‘NeoGeo’, scraped as arcade.

4)      Added a new emulator

5)      Called it ‘NeoGeo’

6)      Path – retroarch exe.

7)      Associated platforms (AP) tab:

?      Called AP ‘ NeoGeo’

9)      Default command line parameters:

10)   I inserted -L “cores\fbaplha2012_neogeo_libretro.dll”

11)   Checked default parameters

12)   Used files in current location.

13)   Searched all metadata

14)   All checked images

15)   Checked ‘Forced using MAME metadata…’ under custom options

16)   Norther America.

17)   Imported games an bios.

Glad you are sorted. Yeah I doubted a bios since you said it was working.

Going forward I recommend always setting up the emulator first. Set your controls and test your roms in the emulator first and make sure everything works there. Then import them into LB. This way, if after you import into LB the games do not run, we know it is a LB setting and not an emulator/rom/or bios issue.

I will do that for the GBC which is also not loading. the video never also help, i also done it differently after i figured out how things work. You do not need to create new emulator and use paths. the setup is in the screenshot.

Thank you guys for the help!!
