Hard drive size?

I am in the process of building my cabinet and am starting to get pc specs together to buy when ready.  I am looking at mame games, possibly techno parrot, and then Atari - PS2.  All the cd based games I am just going to put arcade type games on.  No rpgs or anything like that, just arcade type games like shmups, nfl blitz, nba jam, games like that.   What size HD would you recommend getting?   I’m thinking an SSD drive as I’m not sure if vibrations from the bass and hitting the buttons would mess up a regular hard drive.

Your ideas look interesting. It would be nice to know if you have managed to do something or are still at the idea stage. I can only advise you that you do everything as carefully as possible not to damage the hard drive. But anyway, you can ask for help from specialists about external hard drive recovery if something happens. In the meantime, I'll wait for your updates on this idea. I like to watch various projects to understand how I will also realize my potential in the gaming field in the future. I wish you to develop further in this regard and don't give up halfway. I think if you try hard, you'll succeed.

I am using a regular HD for all my Roms.  I have them also backed up to an external drive that I don't have connected to the computer except when I add games or need to backup for other reasons (I just updated MAME so I put the new mame on the external instead of the old one).  I have the OS, Launchbox and everything that is not roms on a 1TB M.2 drive.  Works great.
