If it had slowdown on original hardware it will still have slowdown in emulation, unless you use hacks and such to improve it if the emulator even has those features. Most emulators strive to recreate the original hardware as accurately as possible, so if the original game slowed down and it still does in emulation that means the emulator is doing a accurate job of emulation.
