faps
Hello guys, I'd like to know an opinion of which "admin" buttons should i put in, i made this template in a hurry to try to explain the problem i have. Do you think I have too many buttons? its any function missing? I can't get the hotkey work well, for example a load / save button, pause / restart I can only do one function and not both, the save / load button only saves does not load because it first detects the assigned key and not the set of keys pressed. note: the pinball buttons are on the side, they are like this for demonstration purposes. thank you all Edited March 22, 2021 by faps
Headrush69
What kind of interface are your buttons connected to? I ask because my layout is like that, except for the admin buttons. I use the secondary key functions from my IPac for those. it provides two benefits: room on the panel above the trackball for my spinner, and I don’t want users have easy access to things like MAME tab menu, Retroarch settings etc. just some food for thought. ? LEM
I grew up in the 70s/80s and spent all my childhood in arcade saloons, and I find horrendous the control panels that people create nowadays with so many buttons. In my case, I can achieve the same functionality having one button that works as an SHIFT key so I can have the same button with 2 functions. I use the 1-PLAYER start for this. This is my panel. I have also added 2 small on/off buttons that you can see in the image. One to turn on and off the cabinet and one as an ESC key. In my case I have 3 buttons per player. I would add 6 if you want to play fighting games. For me it is good enough like that. Edited March 29, 2021 by LEM

LEM
5 hours ago, faps said: How did you get the shift working? Within the meme program I couldnt assign I'm using the JPAC from Ultimarc. It allows you to remap buttons and also has a shift function when pressing the 1-PLAYER start button. If you don't have a JAMMA interface, you could use the IPAC instead from the same company.
