Deam
I am using a homemade arcade stick based on an 8Bitdo M30 gamepad. The Dpad mode is set to Dpad (as opposed to left analog). The issue I am having is that when navigating the game wheel pressing up or down, invariably it will start to just scroll up or down on its own until I give additional up/down inputs to stop it. This appears to only happen with arcade sticks I made based on 8Bit M30 bluetooth gamepad. This does not occur with DS4 controllers also using bluetooth. I have tested the controllers in the Windows USB control panel to see if it is giving inputs after press up or down a few times - it isn't. I'm curious if anyone has experience a similar issue between controllers. Perhaps it is a signal issue. EDIT: Resolution (I hope): So, in a failure of proper troubleshooting, I should not my Bluetooth dongle was connected to a USB hub (as my computer is behind a TV, and there is interference). Well, as luck would have it, there was a recent power failure and I noticed the hub had stopped working as the wireless keyboard didn't work. Well, I got an extension cable and plugged the same Bluetooth dongle into that. Sure enough - the issue seems to have gone away. So it seems it was just a very strange interaction between the M30 gamepad (the PCB of which is my arcade stick) and the USB hub must've caused some form of ghost repeat signal or something of that nature. Very odd, but I lesson is I should've went to basics and directly connected the dongle. The fact that other controllers had no issue threw me off. Deam
Just a follow up for diagnostic purposes: I launch big box from Kodi. The joystick can also be used to control Kodi menus. I tested in Kodi and it does not start moving the menu selector on its own, so it's some interaction with the joystick within Big Box. Deam
One final follow up: Thinking it was just a bad control stick, I remapped the up and down navigation to other buttons on the joystick, and the same issue appears to occur. I cannot even say how consistent it is. I will press up or down in a game wheel and eventually it was just start going on its own until I do counter-inputs with that joystick. I have again checked to see in windows USB controller if the input gets stuck and it doesn't. I even changed bluetooth adapters. There just must be something with the interaction of the M30 which I can't figure out. Edited April 24, 2021 by Deam
