Best way to configure multiple country ROM sets

Let's say I have ROM sets for the following:

• Genesis (North America)
• Mega Drive (Japan)
• Mega Drive (Europe)
• Mega Drive (Rest of the world)

I would prefer to have each of those set up as a separate platform, so I can navigate through them separately within Launchbox/Big Box instead of having a huge list of mixed ROMs.

So, when I added the ROMs, I added each region separately. I named the platform accordingly (ie: Genesis, Mega Drive, Mega Drive (Europe), Mega Drive (World), etc), then chose to have the custom platform scrape as Genesis.

The trouble with doing this, is that the console information and clearlogos don't seem to sync correctly, so I end up with one platform showing a clearlogo in my theme, and the other Mega Drive variants showing up as plain text "Mega Drive (Europe)" with no clearlogo. I tried adding the same Mega Drive clearlogo manually through the platform edit mode, but it still doesn't show in Big Box.

 

Am I setting this up wrong? Is there a better way to do this?

If each of those is a  separate platform than each will have its own image folders. The clear logo for each should be located in the \Images\Platforms\[Platform Name]\Clear Logo folder. The png file for each should also be named exactly as the platform is named. I would check those folders and confirm the images are where they need to be and named correctly. If so, and the images still do not show go into the BB settings and in the >Options >Image Cache section refresh the image cache.

That's very helpful thanks. I managed to get it working with the refresh of the image cache. 

Is this a common way to do this? Would you recommend another method?
