Depress_Mode
Hey, I've been using Launchbox for nearly a year now, and all of a sudden it is refusing to load. Everytime I try, I get the message, "It appears that your LaunchBox/Data/Gamecontrollers.xml file is corrupt; Launch box can't continue. Please try restoring your backup file from the Backups folder inside your LaunchBox root folder. Root Element is Missing. How did this happen? How can I fix it? I have not made a back up (I've only been using it periodically in the last six months). Is there anything I can do to fix it? or do I need to Uninstall and Reinstall? Retro808
How it happened can be many things. One common way is LB or BB closing abruptly without being able to save any data changes on exit. How to fix is pretty simple. The error gives you some tips on how to fix. Go to your \Backups folder. There you will see a bunch of backup zip files. Open anyone of them and copy (or drag and drop) the corrupt xaml file in the zip to your \Data folder. It will override the corrupt one
Depress_Mode
Ok I'm in the zip of the most recent back up. I clicked the file that was said to be corrupted (GameControllers.xml) and clicked Copy too. Where exactly should I copy it too? It auto prompted D:/Launchbox/Backups/
