What eliminator should I use when playing Mame .240 ? The one I pick is not working

I have downloaded every single game that I have wanted on MAME2. 40 every time I click it it goes like it wants to start then goes back to original screen is there a core I should be using if so I need help please.

Those look like games that require CHDs to function, did you download the CHD set as well as the normal set ?

sorry  I'm new what is a chd and where do I find that lol  I download roms mame  2003   from retro

CHD stands for Compressed Hunk Data and these are large compressed files of hard drive or laser disk media that was in certain arcade cabinets that worked with the main board chips. They are separate downloads from regular Mame rom sets.

I don't know where to tell you to get the ones for your set but if you Google "pleasuredome git io" you should find a website that has complete up to date Mame sets and CHD packs. You should also update to the latest version of Mame to run them as well.

Using a mismatched Mame version and rom set version is not a good idea, while some games may work many will not and depending how far apart the two are in versions the more games that won't work.
