Sega CD set up

Hello.

Having some a little trouble getting my Japanese Sega CD games to run using retroarch.

The US games boot just fine using retroarch with the Pico and GX cores.  I assume that it has to do with using a Japanese bios. How do I associate a bios for just the Japanese games? Should I just add them as a different console separate from the US Sega CD? And do I need to use a different core for the Japanese games? is there a universal bios for all region Sega CD games?
