Launchbox MAME and External SSD. Does it work well?

Hello all!

Yesterday I installed and used Launchbox for the first time and I absolutely love it.  Better than Retropie, Recalbox, Gameex, etc. imo.

Just about migrated everything over from GameEx.

As certain Romsets MAME wise are very big...could I run that exclusively off of an External SSD via a USB 3.0 interface?  Say Launchbox is on E: drive(Separate from OS drive of course) with other emulators(including MAME).  Then I would have MAME ROMS/CHD's on External drive.

HTPC is i5-8400 CPU, 16GB RAM, No video card using UHD Intel 630 graphics, which gave me an issue btw.  I had to lower resolution to 1920x1080 in order to select 60HZ.  Fixed the 30fps issue that way.

Yes you can configure your drive setup like that. I have everything frontend and emulator and ROM etc related on a separate disk from the OS. I actually have them connected via SATA III inside my PC case, but I do have an external USB 3.0 dock and did try putting my disk in there once to see if there was a noticeable performance hit. There were no surprises, it worked fine
