ricktn1 Posted November 18, 2022 Posted November 18, 2022 Not sure if anyone has a solution other than emulating xbox controller via DS4Windows (which I would rather not do), but the right stick does not work within Big Box. Remapping does not recognise it at all, as if it wasn't there. It normally wouldn't be an issue but the recent update for 3D boxes within Big Box highlighted this problem (as I never used the right stick in menus anyway). Quote
zombiesruuun Posted November 20, 2022 Posted November 20, 2022 Same problem here with dualshock 4 pad. Quote
Ultra God Azgorath Posted November 20, 2022 Posted November 20, 2022 (edited) Glad it's not just me. It's probably just a small bug with DINPUT devices. Until it's been fixed in the future, what I do is assign the left analog stick to rotate the 3D boxes and assign the dpad to navigate the menus. Edited November 20, 2022 by Azgorath 1 1 Quote
DJWESTY Posted December 6, 2022 Posted December 6, 2022 Hi there, i have the same problem with the Nintendo Switch Pro Gamepad. Quote
B-17 Bomber Posted March 4, 2024 Posted March 4, 2024 I am using Launchbox 13.11 and unable to assign the DS4 right thumb stick to any controller mappings in Big Box. I can confirm that Joy.cpl in Windows 11 recognizes this input as analog Z Axis (Left/Right) and Z Rotation (Up/Down). On my main arcade setup, I have two X-Arcade Tankstick controllers set to X-Input which maxes out the 4-controller limit for Windows. However, I can add a DS4 controller to navigate Big Box which acts like a convenient remote control. I like DS4 Windows, but it uses resources that I would rather conserve for optimum performance. Stripping unnecessary services and startup/background apps makes a big difference in Windows. Hopefully, this will be updated. I do like rotating the 3D boxes 😄 Quote
snaketus Posted April 12 Posted April 12 So, I just dived into these 3D boxes and noticed the same thing! DualShock 4's right stick isn't recognized at all! This is almost three years later, and it still isn't fixed/implemented. Yeah, most people probably use just Xbox controllers, but many people prefer to use something else, and something else should work as well. I think it has something to do with DS4 being a Dinput device instead of an Xinput device, and Launchbox/Big Box just doesn't see it as a dual analog stick controller. Every other button works just fine, just not the right analog stick. I know I could just use something like DS4Windows, but I don't want to because I don't need it anymore on my system for anything else! DS4 just works with almost everything just as it is these days, except rotating boxes in Big Box. I guess I will just bind it to the left stick for now as a workaround, as someone else in this thread did. It's not a final solution, though. Quote
