Setup files are corrupted.

Hi guys,

I am trying to do a fresh install on an internal drive (D:). I get this error:

I have tried installing older versions of Launchbox, as I have my other install on an external drive. A few versions gave me the same error. However, I was able to install version 10. I have tried updating it through the Launchbox help menu but still get the same problem.

Would there be any residual files within appdata folder that could be causing a problem?

My external drive install (P:) - I think some of the files have become corrupted, I get numerous messages saying that platform_xxx.xml is corrupt when launching, I can get around this by replacing the relevant xml files from a backup. It then works correctly, but only until next restart.

So this is why I am doing a fresh install. Just wondered whether there was a conflict between the 2 installs, if there is additional setup files somewhere.

Thanks,

Andy

This isn't an error that's even possible to get via a true fresh install since the installer doesn't place the files there in the first place. Typically you see this issue come up if you are closing the application incorrectly (force closing it via task manager, or it being killed on shut down) or a sync application like drop box locking a file while we are trying to write to it.
