favourites automaticly deleted & 8-way joystick keeps keeping added to Mame games

Hi all,

I've been working with launchbox/Bigbox now for a couple of weeks and i keep having 2 problems that i haven't been able to solve:

1. All my Mame roms keep having controllers added (see file attached). I can remove them, but next time i start launchbox they come back again

2. I can't make favourites. I can make roms favourite, but the next time i start launchbox all the favourite boxes are deselected.

I'm working on a custom theme using Community Theme Creator that i'm running in BigBox and i've selected the option to directly start a game without going to a gamesview first. From what i've been reading trying to find a solution this might be of effect. But i'm nog sure.

If anyone can help. That would be great.

Thanks.

Typically when changes to metadata are done and they do not stick or are altered on each startup a common cause in extra platform xaml files in your \Data\Platforms folder.

Can you open that folder and share a pic of its contents?

Yup that is the issue. Those other xaml files you have in there need to go. The ones with backup and Missing.Serial. LB gets confused and tries to read them.

Nothing should ever be stored in that folder. If you want to create backups make a subfolder inside there and save the backups or those Serial.Missing files there.

Close LB and remove those files. Then when you reopen things should be normal.

Thanks! That did the trick. Anyway i can remove/reset the controllers for the mame roms in one batch? If i select all games and bulk edit the meta data the program gives an error.
