How to remap controls?

My arcade cabinet has buttons that when pressed show a letter, for example up on my joystick is the up button on the keyboard. How can i change the controls so i can scroll through and launch games without using the actual keyboard? Tried to do it in the remapping section but apparently that only works with controllers and not key inputs. Any help?

In LB or BB? In BB there is a keyboard mapping section. Set everything up there.

I was running launchbox, but if i can remap the keyboard I’ll upgrade to BB

LB is keyboard driven so its natural workflow is with a keyboard and mouse. BB is more for that cabinet style use with controllers/arcade sticks. In BB you can remap both keystrokes (arcade sticks/buttons that replicate keystrokes) and true controllers (xinput/dinput style).
